Mitt Romney's Ohio Problem By Z. Byron Wolf
ABC OTUS News - Mitt Romney's Ohio Problem (ABC News) Forget post-convention bounces - the numbers that really matter are in the battleground states, where President Obama's polling advantage is more concerning to Mitt Romney's team than any national numbers. No Republican has ever won the presidency without winning Ohio, and Romney isn't in a strong position to become the first.
According to ABC News' latest race ratings, President Obama is in strong position for 237 electoral votes, when leaning and solid Democratic states and combined. Mitt Romney has only 206 votes he can expect in his column, as of now.
Add in Ohio's 18 electoral votes, though, and Obama stands at 255 - within striking distance of the magic number of 270. Romney would need to win nearly every other battleground state - a list that includes Paul Ryan's Wisconsin, once thought to be safely Democratic - to pull out the presidency without Ohio.

Thanks for telling us. I believe the accusation wasn't leftist, but liar. Of course the two are actually synonymous. Now how did you get hold of the GOP internals on Ohio?
President Bush only won because he took Ohio BARELY. I don’t see how you think President Bush would have won without Ohio. Kerry was WAY too close to the Presidency.
Its time for Romney to seriously start thinking about making some staff changes.
I'm glad the Chicken Littles aren't running the Romney campaign. There would be so many fits and starts it would've stalled and committed suicide before it got out of the gate.
You keep trying to pretend this is a normal election. Obama is not John F Kerry. He is not John McCain. How can you dismiss the 'historical nature' of his presidency so easily? It is huge factor.
The only way to move voters away from that is to convince them they aren't wrong, they aren't bad people, they aren't hateful, they aren't racists for letting Obama go because he's not gotten the job done. There is no other way. None. This is exactly why Obama's party hacks and shills keep the race card front and center.
Romney is running the only strategy that makes sense, that has a chance under these circumstances. He's being smart, not reckless as far too many here would prefer he be!
I've never seen so many hand wringers.
Why don't you just throw in the towel, go on holiday, sip some tea, chop some wood, knit a sleeping cap... something, anything else, rather than mugging anyone pushing ahead to defeat Obama?
You make me puke. Your class warfare crap is as bad as Obama's. We want to free people from these programs, get them back to earning paychecks, not spit in their faces then kick them in the groin because the Obama economy has made that impossible.
Aside from the "historical nature of his candidacy," the thing helping Obama is a campaign of fear and you're making his case for him.
Why does everyone act like this election is like every other incumbent reelection? It isn't. It's the first of its kind. We can't know if people will act rationally, and throw him out based on his record, or not, because they're afraid: afraid of your contempt for those fallen on hard times, afraid of Obama's race card.
If you can't support Romney/Ryan's positive agenda, positive message, shut up. Sometimes, especially in politics, silence really is golden.
Where do you guys get and keep repeating this crap about “Republican internals? NO ONE in the party or the Romney campaign would EVER tell a reporter what their internals are. And certainly not if you were behind. So it’s either disinformation from one side or the other-—from Romney because he wants the Dems to relax or the Dems because they need their peeps to work harder. I talked to a county GOP guy last week and he said that the state and county GOP had not done any polling yet, only fundraising and ID-ing Repubs and indies.
Guess that’s what happens to the senses when you live in CA. The rest of us patriots DO have. dog in this hunt-—NOT OBAMA. The choice is clear, and none of the sanctified “conservatives” could win a primary and St. Sarah wouldn’t even run.
I can tell you that I do not hang out with many Dems or “indies” but of those here in OH that I know, many have announced they will vote fro Romney, mostly women.
What “unsecret ones?” last Ras I saw was tied. Last Ras “swing state” summary I saw-—though no details-—said R was up in “every swing state.” So, let’s see some sources.
Ah I see. A St Sarah supporter, still bummed that HER internals showed she couldn’t even compete for the nomination. How ‘s that for “internals?”
I’m on the ground in OH and can say with great confidence that Romney will do FAR better than McCain with Blu collar voters. It won’t be close, ESP in oil rich SE OH and southern OH. Great blue collar dissatisfaction with Zero. Moreover, the org here is 1000% better under Romney. Our call center made 85,000 calls in a month-—best in the NATION.
We can never again afford to lose because Rs allow a communist to come in the White House.
I have family in Ohio and they say the talk is the same. And this is from union members. There seems to be a lot of freepers losing faith and giving up after reading bogus polls or they are DU trolls.
One thing is for certain, Obama has not done anything that will change the minds of Ohio voters since 2010. What happened in Ohio in 2010 was the Dems lost the race for Governor and lost half (5) of their house seats.

I suspect that 2012 will be no different than 2010. I am unable to find any reason why Obama will get 51% of the vote in Ohio again like he did in 08, But I can find 23 million reason he won’t.

SCROTUS does not stand a chance for re-election and he knows it.
But early voting and vote fraud begins in a matter of days.
"What is your opinion of ELIZABETH WARREN?" (huh???)
"What is your opinion of Martin O'Malley?" (Huh? HUH???)
"Who is more responsible for killing Osama bin Laden---Barack Obama or Mitt Romney?" (HUH? HUH? HUH??????)
"What is your opinion of Michelle Obama?"
"Did the Democratic convention make you more or less likely to vote for Democrats this year, or did it not make a difference?"
"What is your opinion of JULIAN CASTRO?" (Who????)
Actually, this is a DEVASTATING POLL for Obama: His job performance in this clearly Dem poll is only 48% approve, 48% disapprove, and he gets a five point lead in what has to be a 15% Dem oversample?
Obama should be afraid. Very afraid.
How true.
I think its about time for a vanity rant about the polls. I will address it to the freepers of little faith and the trolls on here pushing these polls as fact.
