With two months to Election Day, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney faces the disconcerting reality that he isn't winning most of the states he would need to beat President Barack Obama.
Mr. Obama is leading Mr. Romney by small margins in seven of the eight battleground states, all but North Carolina, according to averages of public polls compiled by RealClearPolitics. All are within the margins of error.
"Our problem in our country is not that we're not paying enough taxes," Mr. Romney said. "It's that we're spending too much money and the economy is not growing as it could and should."
"It's still a very difficult economic environment, and there's plenty of time for Romney to rally," said Mark McKinnon, a former political adviser to President George W. Bush. "Sixty days is like sixty years in political time."

By then, Obama will be generally seen as "moderate-to-conservative."
man you have no sense of humor...lol. Have a great Monday!
Too late...Clint made it for us already.
“Do you really think this nation is so weak that any person as President for 4 years will doom her to her grave?”
YES. It’s going that way right now. Check this out:
Falling for Fourth Year, U.S. Slips to World’s Seventh Most Competitive (from FIRST in 2008)

“For most of the 20th century, the United States has been considered the world’s economic superpower. And up until four years ago, the World Economic Forum would agree. In 2008, it ranked the U.S. as the most globally competitive economy in the world. This year, when the group published its annual Global Competitiveness Report, the U.S. ranked seventh.”
“I’m not sitting on my hands - I’m voting Goode!”
Go ahead, reelect Obama. The stakes are higher than party, literally the fate and future of the US is at stake:

OK, honest answer. So, how and when did we get to that weak point? Since January 2009? Of course not, is started a long time ago. Are the people going to change? Nope. Is the corrupt system going to change for the positive enough with ANY President? Unlikely, nearly impossible as no polidiot has the guts to gut welfare and other “entitlement” programs.
So, can there be any trend to the positive or are all trends to the negative? For me, I see all trends to the negative.
During the previous elections it was often said “Democrats take us to Hell, Republicans take us to Hell just a bit slower.” I don’t think that has changed.
Until the system no longer allows taxation without representation, the system will contiue to grow more corrupt every day, as it has. Until we the people start holding our elected officials accountable our government will continue to take our property, our lives, and our freedom.
Please reread my excerpt — we were #1 until 2008!

Total troll
“we were #1 until 2008!”
We haven’t been competitive in more than a decade. It wasn’t since 2008. 2008 may have been a year when we crossed the threshold but the trend started more than 30 year prior to that. The rapid decline started by 1995. Education was terrible by then and businesses started outsourcing in droves.
“Go ahead, reelect Obama. The stakes are higher than party, literally the fate and future of the US is at stake.”
Indeed, and we’re fighting with Romney at the helm. Game over man. We need Grant and Romney is Burnside. We’re getting our asses kicked, and have been getting our asses kicked for the last four years, and we still haven’t figured out that the problem is the nominee! We replaced one terrible leader with another.
It didn’t take Lincoln four years to find a general.
“Virgil Goode is a Democrat trying to throw the election to Obama. Idiots support him. HTH”
Well, consider me a proud idiot then. I’m not voting for the gay marriage supporting, abortion supporter. And I’m also not voting for Obama.
When Romney gets blown out this election, you’ll scapegoat conservatives just like you did with Palin. As if the problem were us. Ha!
You are not a proud anything. You are a disgrace and a liar.
You are not conservative, not remotely concerned about the future of the nation, and are doing the work of obama.
take your phoney bs, and “I’m yoo holy and religious to vote for Romney” bs game elsewhere where you will be entertained.
You sir are an abject moron.
And the chances of changing nominees is now what?
You are a liar and and a troll. Take your “im too religious” garbage elsewhere.
Hiding behind religion to do the work of obama is pathetic!
At least admit you are an obama troll and be honest.
“And the chances of changing nominees is now what?”
I can only vote for what’s on the ticket. If the ballot says Romney, I’m not voting for him. Plain and simple.
“You are a liar and and a troll.”
Nope, ROMBOT. Calling me a liar is really going to encourage me to vote Romney. Your conduct over the past year or so have only strengthened my resolve not to support Romney. When you’re calling honest FReepers ‘liar’s for being practicing Catholics, then yes, you’ve left wisdom.
DU says the same thing to anyone who rejects contraception and abortion- do you not see this?
“Hiding behind religion to do the work of obama is pathetic!”
Yawn, you ROMBOTS have been doing his work since day one and your plan is just about complete. Romney folds to Obama and gives him another four years. You don’t need me to do that for you!
I’ll always support whomever is prolife and pro traditional marraige. This election, the only candidate that believes this is Goode - so he gets my vote. And yes, it’s just that simple. I’ll vote for all the other republicans, but I want the Republicans to hear it loud and clear that Romney is not worthy of the support of any conservatives. We want a nominee that represents what I believe, not a party that calls us liars for our faith!
That will spell the end of the republicrat party.
“You are not conservative, not remotely concerned about the future of the nation, and are doing the work of obama.”
If my choice is Romneycare or Obamacare, I say neither. I don’t care. I’m not paying for abortion and the fact that both candidates are on the record of forcing Catholics to pay for abortion is disgusting beyond measure.
When the Whigs supported slavery and put slavery supporters at the top of the ticket we got Buchanan. Remind me what happened to them? We the People want a party that supports unborn children and traditional marriage. If that party is not the Republican party then we will find one that is.
I am done encouraging anything. The ABR liars and frauds are beyond help at this point.
You said everything I was thinking, but didn’t dare post.
Everything you said is exactly true.
This phony conservatve act, while pushing for an Obama win is becoming too transparent, but some are still trying to con some conservatives into throwing away their votes, to help Obama win and totally destroy the country.
I voted for ron Paul in the primary genius. I am ABO and voting for the only hope of stopping 4 more years of hell under obama knowing romney will have to be dealt with later and will probably try to screw us as well.
This is a great question that gets to the heart of the problem. Obama is really just the symptom.
The left's complete control over education probably has a lot to do with it. This country used to have common sense in abundance, but after two generations of PC indoctrination, nonsense is the order of the day.
I have given up trying to predict this election.
