President Barack Obama, picking up support following the Democratic National Convention, widened his narrow lead over Republican U.S. presidential challenger Mitt Romney in a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Saturday.
The latest daily tracking poll showed Obama, a Democrat, with a lead of 4 percentage points over Romney. Forty-seven percent of 1,457 likely voters surveyed online over the previous four days said they would vote for Obama if the November 6 elections were held today, compared with 43 percent for Romney.
“The bump is actually happening. I know there was some debate whether it would happen… but it’s here,” said Ipsos pollster Julia Clark, referring to the “bounce” in support that many presidential candidates enjoy after nominating conventions.
Obama had leapfrogged Romney in the daily tracking poll on Friday with a lead of 46 percent to 44 percent.
The president’s lead comes despite a mixed reaction to his convention speech on Thursday night in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Friday’s government data showing that jobs growth slowed sharply last month. [Read more from this story HERE].

They simply REFUSE to give you the internals of the poll. That, apparantly, is the new model: Oversample Dems wildly, then refuse to tell you about it!
This "poll" is pure crap.
I don't know if you can get as true a demographic sample online versus telephone. There's still a significant chunk of the population that don't access the internet.
What I do know is that Reuters is most deceptive and corrupt news agency based in the free world. It has had that reputation—among news editors of all persuasions—for 50 years or more.
Because the Left is losing.
It’s BS because it was done on-line. What’s really newsworthy about this is that Reuters and Ipsos have actually done a poll like this and are presenting the results with a straight face. Did they have a link on Moveon.org and Salon to get their respondents?
I don’t believe it—rigged to start—a movement towards Obama before the Debates. Do not worry.
I would be laughing at this poll too.
However, the more serious RASMUSSEN POLL has Obama approaching 50% already in its Latest Daily Tracking Poll.
Obama 49, Romney 45

And remember, Romney has yet to unleash the Dogs of Advertising. :)
I see the liberal’s stranglehold over public education is bearing fruit.
I am not concerned at all about any polls. I am telling you what I’m seeing out there and that’s large numbers of people extremely motivated to give this commie jackwad the boot.
I will not be able to take much more of this.
so income down.
foreclosires up
debt up
gas up
unemployment up
obamacare which most disagree with
homosexual agenda which most disagree with
food up
house hold bills up
so that is what most say they are happ with and want more of the same.
I say B/S too but then again when he has the media doing all they can to cover for this fool then maybe
RE: I am telling you what Im seeing out there and thats large numbers of people extremely motivated to give this commie jackwad the boot.
That might apply in your state or in your city, but you gotta remember, this is a big country. Not every people in this once great country think like the people who live around you.
can you imagine what it would be if b.o. was not the worst president in u.s. history??
exactkly
the media have gone all out again to campaign for their messiah.
when debt, unemployment, foreclosures, gas, food, bills etc are all up
income down then the media are doing what they can to help to get their messiah elected and then not mention any of those I listed above.
If the media did their job then even the black community would hear about his illegal immigration policy, the homosexual agenda
The tea party and all of us should have protested the media HQ’s local and national and demand they do their job.
Then there is the GOP which needs to call these little piss ants out, name names, mention who they are, use instances of their bias ad even call them out on their shows
... and in the SECOND place, many Americans haven't the slightest clue what "a Marxist or Marxist sympathies" means - especially the younger ones who never lived in the eras of these tyrannies or studied their horrors in publik skhules!
Besides, don't the current "communists" (the Chinese) make our TVs and iPods by the millions? Nice, hard-working people who make great stuff like that for us cheap can't be that bad, can they? After all, can't we schmooze with them on FaceBook?
Could be true.
Most of the younger generations have no idea how the USA was before the democrats hosed it all up with their their culture of divisivness and hate and their governance dedicated to the destruction of the Country and the Constitution.
Not knowing what we have lost, many no doubt think this police state socialism is pretty good.
These polls are to make us believe the election was legit.
