Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) is up for re-election in November and her main opposition comes from Republican candidate Elizabeth Emken. While Emken would like to debate the three-term senator, Feinstein has rejected the idea.
The Los Angeles Times thinks it is a good idea for the candidates to face off publicly. Last summer, after Emken won the Republican nomination, the Times published an editorial in favor of a debate:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein had an excuse for not debating her opponents in the first round of this years election there were 23 of them. But now that the voters have winnowed the field to two, the four-term Democratic incumbent owes it to Californias voters to appear publicly with Republican challenger Elizabeth Emke

Folks IMHO this is do-able. Any incumbent on the 50% bubble is in trouble, and no one knows her challenger.
Di-Fi is doing this because she probably has internals with an anti-incumbent bent....
This could be the "Scott Brown" race of 2012 IMHO....
Sounds like Kerry: “Do you know who I am?”
She is a good candidate against the gun grabbing Billionairess. Old Commies hate the light of truth.
IOW, unwilling to debate unwillingness to debate
Didn't John Kerry serve in Viet Nam?
LOL
She believes she's "entitled." She'd a democrat.
“What are ya’, chicken? Bwaak! Bwaaaaaak!!”
Feinstein is financed out the yin-yang. And by yin-yang, I mean her hubby is well connected to the Chinese.
A far cry from the boob Martha Coakley who thought the (D) next to her name would be an automatic win against Scott Brown.
If Elizabeth beats Dianne, it’ll be a much, much bigger deal than Scott Brown’s win, imo.
Entitled my arse, We need to post the video on our FB page(s) and get the word out via that and E-Mails to friends. spread the word...
Forget it! This is California. Feinstein will win in a walk.
The GOP had the option of running Larry Elder against Boxer two years ago;they opted for Fiorina instead. Feinstein will get away with declining to debate. The GOP has no apparent interest in winning California.
The chief problem is the weakness of her opponent. If the California GOP had it together enough to put up formidable candidates, they might win some seats.
She doesn’t debate with peasants.
But I have seen this before, (up front and personal) put up a young upstart against a bull in the House or Senate. Make them spend effort and money to keep her seat. The down-ticket wins are amazing....
I have noticed that Di-Fi has shaded a little to the center on several issues this year, I think that I smell why. Nonetheless any state that re-elects a twit like Senator (don’t call me Ma’am) Boxer by 10% will have no problem in swallowing the ‘slightly’ less idiotic Dianne Feinstein!
If there is any danger of a loss, there will be an October surprise, remember Nicky Diaz Santillan? She was the ‘victim housekeeper’ trotted out by Gloria Alred to smear Jerry Brown’s GOP opponent, Meg Whitman at this time in 2010. It was not that this woman provided false documents, it was that Ms Whitman may have known she was illegal.
Strange that she has disappeared from the news since the election ... /s
DiFi knew Ol Strom.
