When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands, is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat that the US government is going to take their firearms.
And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands, which I often follow with the question, And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?

Marshall - the guy with the badge on his chest
martial - "of or pertaining to war" as in martial law, rule by the military.
Just went to Ask.com and found out a total of 1 M1 had been knocked out by an IED. What’s the real scoop here?
You aren’t aware of the firearms confiscation in NOLA after Katrina, eh?
Disarming 110 million people “one small group at a time” could take generations.
Yes, that struck me as odd. I mean there are some famous neo-cons out there: Bill Kristol, Max Boot, Condie Rice, Rumsfeld. Did the author talk with them about this? As for the rank and file of the Conservative movement not very many identify themselves as neo-cons. Strange choice of terminology.
“Remember, November is Coming! Obozo Must Go! Then it is TIME to DownSize DC!”
LOL! When was the last time the District of Criminals was downsized?
Your policeman in the barber shop will be directly in conflict with the oath he gave to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
THAT is the line to be drawn.
Fear will be the key, either they blockade neighborhoods completely and using overwhelming force to go door to door before any organized resistance gets motivated or they just bombard every single minute of the day with every conceivable threat for gun hoarders and throw in a heft reward tip line as well dumped upon a demoralized weak economy millions will be be aggressively turning in their best friends and neighbors.
Best defense is a good offense, like communities mandating a required firearm in every home ahead of time.
let them keep on yammering away, we have seen Waco and we have a learning syntax upstairs. we can muster over a million people into Washington DC in just a couple of days, we can by sheer number succeed, America isn’t another Waco.
And then when and if they take our guns we will build lasers, sound cannons and who knows what else.
Thats a one off event. Even though pissed off when cops in New Orleans said they were taking the guns, the gun owners knew something.
They knew a hurricane had just blown through and that in the small area of the disaster, relief and rescue operations and restoring order was the order of the day. Nobody had the sincere belief that this was the beginning of a dictatorship to be resisted. So they turned em over.
This is a very different scenario from government moving to confiscate. It’s nuanced, and most people instictively know the difference.

My dad's cousin in Norway was a teenager in the resistance against the Nazi's. As an adult he was a successful business man and owned hunting property and a big outdoors-man. Officially he only owned one gun. A single-shot shotgun. Some lessons are learned the hard way.
Also look at how many laws are on the books already that allow the criminal justice system to confiscate your firearms.
They will have to do that to every neighborhood in American all at once.
...turning in their best friends and neighbors.
One out of three Americans owns a firearm more than that support the right to own firearms. Where will all these snitches come from again?
Ask.com is a joke. Also, it depends on the def of “knocked out.” Here’s a link quoting the military: http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2005-03-29-abrams-tank-a_x.htm

LEO’s and their family of Unions have spent millions of dollars to get anti-gun legislation pushed through State legislatures and were the catalyst behind the “assault weapons Ban.”
The LEO’s are now pushing legislation to get the evil “AK-47” off the streets and out of the hands of American citizens.
No Sir, don't trust your local LEO’s!
I’m more inclined to consider the following facts: morphine-fiend “Fatty” Goering was unsuccessful in knocking out the RAF in 1940—just as he failed to deliver later at Stalingrad—while Hitler was more interested in punitive bombing campaigns against urban areas, again, instead of knocking out radar installations.
In fact, his Luftwaffe general in charge of fighters (name escapes me) wanted the new jets for use as fighters, where they might have been, if not a war-winner, a means of dragging the war out another year or so. But Hitler wanted bombers and vengeance weapons to respond to allied bombing of German cities.
Losses of experienced pilots and planes over England, failure to gain control of the air and plain logistic inability to actually mount an invasion was the reason Fall `Sea Lion’ was never attempted—not any magnanimous attitude on the part of the little corporal, even if Germans could have then been considered Anglophiles.
Also, Hitler was eager to resolve some differences with his buddy to the east: Fall `Barbarrosa,’ and the air war with Britain was taking too long to suit him. If he had paid as much attention to his idol Frederick’s teachings, he would have considered that Russia, while easy to get into is almost impossible to get out of.
Something like Afghanistan: Barry’s war. We’ve seen two great powers in recent history leave Afghanistan licking their wounds but—like Vietnam and the French—we just had to try it on for size, with no exit strategy except (I suppose) to stay there indefinitely until even our Afghan `friends/allies’ started shooting us at close range.
