Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., as chair of the House Budget Committee, was part of the team that signed off on the budget deal with the White House, mandating immediate spending cuts, creating a "Super-committee" tasked to finding $1.5 trillion in further deficit rediction, and raising a self-imposed sword of Damocles - $1.2 trillion in cuts to the Pentagon and domestic spending that few in Congress wanted - if the Super-committee failed.

‘Has he given any specifics yet on what federal spending he WILL cut?”
That might be because he wants to win.
Correct. This is NOT a dig on Ryan.
The “Cut, Cap and balance” plan was the House position to implement cut, cap and balance. That had the Ryan budget.
The Boehner/McConnell/Reid sausage that was made in Aug 2011 was NOT Ryan budget, not even close. It was a big punt to 2013 -— the fiscal cliff we now face because of the failure to cut $2 trillion out of the budget.
Romney said he’s against cutting $1 trillion from government spending because HE THINKS its cutting $1 trillion from the economy
Where were you last spring? FR was filled with angry posters, including JimRob, echoing what Romney’s saying here: the super committee was a dumb idea.

Oh my - do you have an Obama sticker on your car yet? Mitt was correct and Ryan was pushing for a real budget that the Dims will not let happen. Would you rather he had voted “present”?
Nice to agree with Romney on something.
Glad to hear Aiken did not support this deal. I remember when I found out at the time that Allen West supported it. I was very disappointed.
The only Americans in Syria are our troops and support staff.
John McCain is a maniac and so is his little buddy Graham and McConnell is as much a dolt as Boehner.
Sorry. Should read:
The only Americans in Afghanistan are our troops and support staff.
