Romney WILL play in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania
The Washington Post's Right Turn ^ | September 7, 2012 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 09/07/2012 10:57:35 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

When the Romney-Ryan ticket announced a major ad campaign in eight states last night, the media noted that Wisconsin and Michigan were not among them and then jumped to the conclusion that these states are no longer in play. Wrong. Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul told Right Turn that the campaign is “definitely not” abandoning these states. She told me: “Stay tuned.”

The Romney-Ryan camp, I was told, has expensive ground games in these states, as well as in Pennsylvania. Saul provided the stats:

Michigan

* 21 offices across the state

* More than 1 million voter contacts

* Sixth most voter contacts in the country

* Knocked on more than 100,000 doors

Pennsylvania

* 23 offices across Pennsylvania

* More voter contacts last week than any other week this cycle

* More than 1.5 million voter contacts

* Fourth most voter contacts in the country

* Knocked on more than 200,000 doors (continued)

I think Romney has a chance in all 3 of those states. I think Wisconsin most likely, and Michigan probably least likely, but none of them (IMHO) are write-offs (i.e. not like California, Vermont, etc.).

If nothing else, Romney can use his money advantage to force Obama to spend money and other resources defending territory that might otherwise be “safe ground.”

It is interesting.

Obama spent millions to destroy Romney over the past couple months.

It didn’t make a dent in the polls.

Romney raised $300 million over the last 3 months and couldn’t spend the money until now.

I think Romney will pull ahead now that he can spend his war chest.

Its close in PA

The Railroad unions and the UMW rank-and-file are against Zero because of his war on coal. The UMW for obvious reasons, and the IBET because the three railroads here, (NW, CSX, AVR), all depend on King Coal for most of their revenue.

The mine workers really should endorse Romney, if they do maybe their union could last for another decade or two.

If I ran a union I’d be d*mned to hell before I endorsed a guy who promised to “bankrupt” my industry.

Unions are more about political ideology these days than common sense. Good chance the union leaders will rather seek good graces of leftists or is already owned by them.

Those endorsements could get personal, too.

Remember back in 1960 Hoffa and the Teamsters endorsed Nixon because Jimmy Hoffa hated Bobby....

I have been thinking for a while that Romney has a chance in New Jersey And Connecticut. Would love to see some Rassmussen polls from there

Good luck with Michigan. We have a spineless governor who early on handed the goonions an issue they can/will run on in ‘12 and ‘14 when he instituted taxes on pension income. All of the NOT Taxed Enough Already Party non-conservative Snyder sycophants celebrated the move in the true spirit of getevenwithemism. Maobama handed big labor two car companies who’s original home is Michigan, the home of those noble “workers” of the UAW which also controls a huge portion of State of Michigan “workers”, but it is an industrial goonion fighting for the little guy don’t you know. Snyder has avoided taking on any of the State public employee “workers” exorbitant wages and pension benefits in any meaningful way. And, we have Pete Hoaxtra taking on she’s hardly li’l Debbie Stabemall who will probably clean his moderate clock. So yeah, I understand if the Romney camp is reluctant to engage here in any meaningful financial manner.

I’m in NJ and I don’t know anyone voting for Obama.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. There are no yard signs for Obama, and I don’t see any car stickers either. There are some flaming liberals that we know who believe there will be a landslide for Romney.

Is this a bellwether? Maybe, just maybe.

I very rarely use Facebook but had to to find someone and when logging onto it I saw an ad thing for “I won’t vote for Obama in 2012” and there was my brother’s name. I clicked to his page and low and behold, the only political like was for Allen West. I was absolutely floored.

You see, my brother is a shop steward (I think) at the GE jet engine factory in Ohio. One of our biggest disagreements is over unions and we haven’t spoken to each other in years. He fell ill and was even more ill (figuratively) because he could not go to the big union meeting that was held in DC within the last year.

For over 30 years he has been a lockstep, pro strike union mobilizer and leader at his place of employment and has also been sent to major union deals as a rep. Surely I will see pigs flying in formation as I head out to west Florida today.

Last I saw, Romney was down 4-5 in CT, which Zero won by 20+ last time.

Why, it was just the other day that all the FR Chicken Littles were proclaiming the truth in MSM reporting the sky is falling and R&R had thrown in the towel.

Maybe now some will see that MSM is more than happy to assist dems in propaganda.

Its been said before and well worth remembering that politics on this grand a scale is Chess not Checkers.
