The Daily Caller published two troubling stories by Matthew Boyle yesterday. The first, referring to email evidence, contends that senior Obama reelection campaign adviser David Axelrod has attempted "to subtly intimidate the respected polling firm when its numbers were unfavorable to the president," and that in August, "After Gallup declined to change its polling methodology, Obama’s Department of Justice hit it with an unrelated lawsuit" alleging that it has been overcharging the federal government on various contracts.
The second notes that DOJ has not yet formally served that lawsuit on Gallup, leading an unnamed "senior Gallup official" to theorize that "that Holder’s DOJ may be aware that serving the complaint before November’s election would appear politically charged." I'll note two other "little" things and excerpt relevant reports after the jump.

Obama knows that if the polls reflect his cratering popularity and that he is losing to Romney, the dam will break and Obama loses in a landslide. It’s a psychological game the Obama campaign is playing with the undecided voters. Also, an attempt to demoralize Republicans.
There’s NOTHING subtle about this intimidation attempt.
If Gallup folds, they will forever be simple propagandists, and no longer be considered a polling firm, I would think.
This guy couldn’t intimidate ‘tweety bird’ even if he tried under the darkest of nights.
Axelrod would have been completely at home in the USSR as one of Stalin’s henchmen. The only reason he doesn’t pack people off to the gulag, or put them up for show trials, is because he can’t....

Where the hell is Congress’ oversight on this kind of BS... there is more than enough “circumstantial” evidence to show that DOJ is being used as Obama’s political Gestapo. It’s simply outrageous. DOJ must be attacked politically if not physically (by that I mean cut its funding and resources). Why we sit around and say things like, “can you believe that” instead of smacking DOJ in the kisser is beyond my imagination. Damn-it-man, get some cojones and do something....
Do you mean to say that Obama’s boys want to tweak the polls, so that the polls report that Obama is more popular than he really is??? I’m shocked, just shocked!!!

I was in Fed sales (computers, etc.) forever. I know something about federal contracting, but am not a specialist.
I haven’t seen this mentioned, but:
It strikes me that this is a federal contracting dispute. I don’t ever recall DOJ intervening in such a dispute, certainly not at this dollar level.
Something smells, and it sounds as if Gallup’s lawyers know how the courts will handle it.
This IS the same party that committed voter fraud in front of the country AND the MSM - at their convention. 'All in favor... All opposed...' - - on the "God and Israel' issue.
Then ON STAGE (with the whole world watching) they lied about the vote. Stunning.
