How come I get this feeling the government is taunting us.I'm actually peripherally involved in this effort. Dr. Khan is a very creative, 'cool' kind of CDC Director. He came up with the concept of linking emergency preparedness to the 'zombie apocalyse' and it took off. There is no taunting, it is as it appears: Have a little fun, make the concept engaging to the public, while instructing people how to be prepared for an emergency.

A few of the government's suggestions tracked closely with some of the 33 rules for dealing with zombies popularized in the 2009 movie "Zombieland," which included "always carry a change of underwear" and "when in doubt, know your way out." Somehow I doubt Rule #2 is in the gummint version?

It's a good concept. People need to find things interesting and amusing before they will truly pay attention.
If it makes just a few hundred thousand take steps to prepare for a major problem then it has done very well.
