Tanya Tucker - Delta Dawn
Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on Could it be a faded rose from days gone by And did I hear you say he was a-meeting you here today To take you to his mansion in the sky
She's forty-one and her daddy still calls her "baby" All the folks around Brownsville say she's crazy 'Cause she walks around town with a suitcase in her hand Looking for a mysterious dark-haired man
In her younger days they called her Delta Dawn Prettiest woman you ever laid eyes on Then a man of low degree stood by her side And promised her he'd take her for his bride
Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on Could it be a faded rose from days gone by And did I hear you say he was a-meeting you here today To take you to his mansion in the sky

Sammy Davis Jnr "Mr Bojangles"
I knew a man Bojangles and he danced for you In worn out shoes Silver hair, a ragged shirt and baggy pants The old soft shoe
He jumped so high He jumped so high Then he'd lightly touched down
Mr Bojangles Mr Bojangles Mr Bojangles Dance
I met him in a cell in New Orleans I was Down and out He looked to me to be the eyes of age As he spoke right out
He talked of life He talked of life He lightly slapped his leg instead
He said the name Bojangles and he danced a lick Across the cell He grabbed his pants for a better stance He jumped so high He clicked his heels
He let go a laugh He let go a laugh Shook back his clothes all around
Mr Bojangles Mr Bojangles Mr Bojangles Dance
We danced for those at minstrel shows and county fairs Throughout the south We spoke in tears of fifteen years How his dog and him They travelled about
His dog up and died He up and died After twenty years he still grieves
They said I dance now at every chance and honky tonks For drinks and tips But most the time I spend behind these county bars Cause I drinks a bit
He shook his head and as he shook his head I heard someone ask please
Mr Bojangles Mr Bojangles Mr Bojangles Dance
Mr Bojangles Mr Bojangles Mr Bojangles

“I used to produce videos for Bands”
I was just a “for hire” guy for studios in Cleveland and Akron. Lots of demos. Almost all, well really all,,,, failures. I often worked with the late Tom King, who wrote “Time Won’t Let Me” for his band The Outsiders. Because of that hit, record companies would always listen to the stuff he brought in. One of my songs got as far as Randy Travis’s living room. His guitar player called to ask; “Just what the heck chords are you playing?” But,,,, it didn’t make the cut,,,,, Too bad! He could have used the profits to pay his bail!

You seem to understand this quite well. I was just a hired hand, in virtually all sessions. I did what the producer or artist wanted. Seldom was my own real creativity involved. They wanted what they wanted, and they paid for what they wanted. Only once, in all those sessions, was I asked to do a second take. I wish Tommy Sche’ would post more of the songs I played on, because he was the only one who really gave me a free hand.

Well I did work with a lot of people.I had no interest in it but the kids liked it so I did it.I do know if you want to be creative you have to form your own company. We have something that will begin airing on TV tom.-non-proft.Nobody tells me what to do cause I'm the boss and that's more fun.If people like it we will begin creating our own songs-spiritual for kids.

As I was waking up this morning in bed, I thought, “how could I have not remembered ‘America’ by Simon and Garfunkle.” I was surprised this even came to mind. I played it on the piano as a teen-ager and it was one of my favorites.
“And we walked off to look for America....”
It seems so appropriate for where we are.

Yeah, I was naughty - life under pressure, needed some venting. That song is a great release when you feel life’s applecart is tipping over. Real Vengeance is for God.
