That’s certainly a possibility. My take is that the Clinton’s want Obama to not just lose, but lose in a landslide. The thinking is that it will reduce Obama to an insignificant figure while simultaneously both ejecting Obama loyalists (Jarret, Axelrod) and chastising the DNC and their constitutients severely. The Democrats would have no recourse but to come grovelling back to the Clintons. In 2016, no one is likely to challenge Hillary and Obama will be a dismal memory.

Assuming Romney stumbled, and the Media will help with that, I see the Clinton’s taking advantage of the historical likelihood that Republican mid-term losses mean they can try to get back some or all of Congress.

The problem with the basic premise about Hillary Clinton’s prospects in 2016 is that she was an old-looking hag even when running in 2008. If she couldn’t beat a jug-eared nitwit like Obama in 2008, she’s not likely to do well in 2016 when she she’ll come across as a tired, worn-out political hack.
