I read this whole article- it is remarkable...now Obama is going to have Romney, Ryan AND Bob Woodward living inside his head :)

I don't believe a word of it. Woodward mostly writes political fiction.

If there’s any truth in this tale, I imagine that weak-spined Boner offered to give Obama 99% of what he wanted, but The One naturally wouldn’t settle for anything less than 100%.

——”He was pissed…. He wasn’t going to get a damn dime more out of me. He knew how far out on a limb I was. But he was hot. It was clear to me that coming to an agreement with him was not going to happen, and that I had to go to Plan B.”——

Translation: Obama thought he could intimidate Bonher to get more taxes and when he couldn’t, Obama threw a hussy fit and Bonher told Obama to ( Clint implied it )

“Obama phoned in to deliver a “high-minded message,” he writes. Obama went on so long that Pelosi “reached over and pressed the mute button on her phone,” so they could continue to work without the president hearing that they weren’t paying attention.

As debt negotiations progressed, Democrats complained of being out of the loop, not knowing where the White House stood on major points. Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., the ranking Democrat on the House Budget Committee, is described as having a “growing feeling of incredulity” as negotiations meandered.

“The administration didn’t seem to have a strategy. It was unbelievable. There didn’t seem to be any core principles,” Woodward writes in describing Van Hollen’s thinking. “

Zero is probably a pretty risky meet in a dark alley.

Exactly the same mindset as Yasser Arafat, exactly as murderous, and probably just as homosexual.

“But at a critical juncture, with an agreement tantalizingly close, Obama pressed Boehner for additional taxes as part of a final deal – just as his masters HARRY REID and NANCY PELOSI told him to LOL!

From then on Boehner dealt with the people in charge- HARRY REID and NANCY PELOSI. Dealing with Obama was a waste of time. There was no way Obama could or would do anything but what his masters told him to do.

Woodward knows Harry and Nancy pulled the strings in Obama’s term. An ‘empty chair’ indeed.

” - - - But after the breakthrough agreement fell apart, Boehner’s “Plan B” would ultimately exclude the president from most of the key negotiations. The president was “voted off the island,” in Woodward’s phrase, even by members of his own party, as congressional leaders patched together an eleventh hour framework to avoid default.”

Looks like Woodward thinks that Obama has become irrelevant.

Well, except for the golf course staff, of course!

Boy, reading this article really paints Obama as a fool who doesn’t know how to negotiate in good faith.

Someone needs to inform the boy president that he temporarily represents ONE and only one branch of the federal government. He’s not a king. He gets a phone call when he gets a phone call.

No matter what you think of Boehner - after reading this, from a partisan inclined to support Democratic administrations, you can’t say much about Obama’s leadership skills.

Woodward churns out these books every few years. They all have supposed insider scoops that are impossible to verify. He’s always the first and last to allegedly dig out these tidbits. Doesn’t pass the smell test, IMO.
