CHARLOTTE - Following what Obama campaign officials said was the personal intervention of President Barack Obama, the Democratic National Committee reversed itself and altered their platform Wednesday afternoon to include language identifying Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

After defending their decision to keep such language out of the platform as recently as this afternoon, convention leaders today proposed two amendments to the platform adopted on Tuesday, one to add a mention of God and one to add a mention of Jerusalem.
"Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths," the new platform language stated.
An Obama campaign official told The Cable late Wednesday that the change in platform was made to reflect the personal views of Obama, who believes that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and who "personally intervened" to ask for the platform change.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I smell desperation.
After Obama intervened.............. sounds like it was staged just for the annointed one. We all know he is about ready to stab the jews in the back and he is a god fearing man just ask rev wright
It looks like the Dems count votes at their national convention as accurately as they do in national elections. Oh well, as long as the right result is achieved, who cares what the vote count was. That’s democracy.
Yeah right, more likely after the vote for inclusion.
Not true according to this tweet:

Flash: Rep. Sandy Levin (D-MI) asked for platform change regarding Jerusalem. “I wanted a change...#DNC2012
Things just don’t seem to be going all that smoothly at the convention for the Anointed One.
Altered venues, lying Chairs, empty chairs, switching capitols, Eli Manning.
It really is a pity.
What is that saying? 'A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth gets up in the morning"?
The truth may be that the Obama White House did not request this, but then after they put out the talking points and lie their *sses off, the news cycle will be on to the next lie.
Not content with revealing themselves as liars, hypocrites, thugs and crooks, the Democrats are now FOOLS in front of the entire TV-watching world.
And when it “passed” (or so said the Chairman; it really didn’t pass) The Democrat Convention loudly booed God and Jerusalem.
No. This was staged. Former Gov of Ohio made the floor request. Now, Ohio can claim to have saved the DNC from total Doom.
This is about pandering to Christianity, Jewry, yes, but it is about Ohio’s EVs and Sherrod Brown, of the plane-waiting-on-the-tarmac-after-his-mother’s-funeral-so’s-he-can-swoop-in-and-vote-for-0bamaScare. Brown’s up against a former USMC who saw duty in AfgPak, IIRC. maybe it was Iraq.
If you heard the voice vote on putting God & Jerusalem BACK into the platform, at least HALF of the delegates voted NO, THREE TIMES!
So, Mr. Durbin, the Democrat party is both Godless and anti Israel. There is no doubt. Half of your party delegates said so very loudly, three times. There is your evidence DICK!
I decided to watch just a bit of the dog and pony show for some diversion and amusement. Honestly, it’s like being in another universe or one of those really bad dreams that you are grateful to wake up from..
The Adams family? The Munsters? Animal House? A bad skit on SNL? I can’t quite put my finger on a fit analogy to anything we are already familiar with but if it’s a movie, I think Pee Wee Herman, Lady Gaga or Will Farrell would be in it.. Anyone else?
This has got to be, by far, the worst political gaffe I have ever seen. A liberal New York City website was almost overloaded with irate comments, and out of maybe 400 comments, I only saw two with tepid defenses of the Democrats.
I doubt it would have been worse had they loaded up the stage with puppies and kittens and Obama and his wife had stomped on dozens of them with combat boots while laughing.
No, it wasn’t passed. It was deemed.
If that rat’s nest is unhappy over that kind of decision, just wait ‘till they face a death panel. They’ll be alone, and it will be too late to even whimper.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

No way was that a 2/3 majority. I doubt it was a simple majority.
“Obama intervened” wink, wink, nod, nod
translation: Obama told the Dim leaders: I will have more room to maneuver on that issue after the election, so don’t reveal my hand before the election.
I expect that was closer to the truth.
Barack Obama is the head of the current Democrat Administration in Washington - the Obama Administration.
The Administration's position is that the issue of Jerusalem will be settled with the Final Status.
Until this evening, a component of the Democrat Party Platform stated that the issue of Jerusalem will be settled with the Final Status in accord with the current Democrat Administration in power.
Barack Obama gets wind of the Party's platform this evening (apparently unaware of what it contained) and decides to personally intervene to have it changed to reflect his personal view that Jerusalem is indeed the capital of Israel.
And to be very clear on this issue, the Administration's policy towards Israel remains the same - the issue of Jerusalem will be settle with the Final Status.
To summarize, the head of the current Democrat Administration in power, Barack Obama, who has never publicly stated that he believes Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and who's Administration spokesperson just weeks ago was refusing to answer reporters’ questions on the issue of Israel and Jerusalem, has now publicly intervened at the last moment to ensure that the Democrat Party Platform, which hopefully his Administration would somewhat mirror, reflects his personal views, which are not his Administration's views, in an effort to bring clarity to this issue.
Do I have this right?
There is a shocking level of ignorance inherent in a democrat voter.
