Democrats today announced that President Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will move from the vast Bank of America stadium to the much-smaller Time Warner indoor arena.
While organisers blamed weather forecasts of lightning, the switch means that Obama has avoided the possibility of having to accept his partys nomination before a partially-empty stadium. Just hours earlier, officials had been insisting the speech would go ahead in the stadium 'rain or shine'.->snip<
A convention worker told MailOnline on Tuesday: It looks like a done deal to me. The decisions apparently been taken and its just a matter of spinning it as being forced on us by the weather. As the source was speaking, Democrats were saying publicly the event would go ahead as planned.

This is Obama’s Tank moment. He did it all by himself. No money invested by the GOP.
HE DIDN'T FILL IT!
UPDATE: The Obama speech has been moved to the McDonalds down the street from the arena. It will be in the mens room.
Why would Mr. god (small caps) be worried about lightning?
“UPDATE: The Obama speech has been moved to the McDonalds down the street from the arena. It will be in the mens room.”
Many Democrats and some Log Cabin types would find that very romantic.
NO STADIUM
‘LIGHTNING THREAT’Drudge headline
How ironic. Afraid of God’s lightening?
UPDATE: The Obama speech has been moved to the McDonalds down the street from the arena. It will be in the mens room.
I hear there is an empty “Seat” in one of the stalls!!!
To me, this decision looks like ineptness squared. So what, if the stadium was only half filled? Distribute the people around and it doesn’t look terribly obvious. But now they’re going to piss of a very large number of their most enthusiastic supporters who went to a lot of trouble to make travel plans to see The One. Not to mention the endless negative stories that will be generated by this decision, ranging from gazillions of human interest interviews with disappointed ticket holders, to the stupidness of it all when it turns out it doesn’t rain or lightening Thursday evening.
Such bad decision making might even make a few leaners ponder whether this is indicative of the way the Rats have been governing all along and would continue to govern if they remain in power.
"He said, 'fill the stadium, fill the stadium, I don't care what it costs.' I tried to tell him the water bill would be monstrous, but he wouldn't listen. I hope they like it."
What would you rather have, a President that pretends to be angry with you when he is your friend, or a President that hates you and pretends to like you?
Cause its that presidential knife in the back that I’m a hating.
