Speculation is mounting that Texas Rep. Ron Paul will mount a third party bid for the presidency as pressure from his supporters builds ahead of his appearance Tuesday night on NBCs Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
According to a report, Pauls supporters were deeply upset by how the libertarian Texas Representative was treated at the Republican National Convention last week. 300 of them joined in a conference call on Sunday night planning to urge Paul to launch a last-minute independent bid for the White House.
In order for Paul to appear on the ballot in all 50 states, he would have to join the Libertarian partys ticket either as former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnsons running mate or as his replacement. The partys present vice presidential nominee, Jim Gray, would have to drop out of the race.

This BASTARD. I hope he bunrs in hell. What an arrogant S.O.B.
If he does this, I won’t even vote for his damned son.
don’t blame republicans for the insanity of Ron Paul and his followers.
It’s a free country and anyone who can meet the criteria to get on the ballot should be free to do so without being criticized. Our voting system is at fault for being inadequate to count people’s true preferences when there are more than two candidates. But that’s not the fault of anyone who happens to get their name on the ballot. Either have a real runoff election or record the voter’s preferences on all the candidates on the ballot to have an instant runoff calculation. Otherwise you always risk disenfranchising the voters’ true preferences as probably happened in 1992.
Let Paul run as a 3rd Party candidate.I was worried that if Romney win the election, some crazy Paultard serving in Electoral College will vote present or even throw the election to Obama altogether .This way, it won’t be a problem to throw his supporters from the party.
Pre recorded sure but ‘done days in advance’? Where did you hear ‘days’?
BTW, you’re correct.
Oh, now a caveat about certain times. I’ll stipulate that, but the daily, live shows are taped on the same day.
Ross Perot might have won! Had he not dropped out and then reentered.
I see ya moved to back to Louisiana. No wonder you sound hysterical.
Take care!
Ron Paul is a decent American—He will not do this! This would be giving a hand to Obama (paid for with Soros Money and Unions) If he can pull 11% of the Conservative vote from Romney—he could swing the race to Obama and four more years of stagnation.
'Rats are smart enough to remember the lesson. They won't be deserting obama for any of these idiot banjo hitters. They learned their lesson.
The fringe republicans and assorted d--chebags didn't learn from the rats' mistake in 2000. No. Good little spoiled brats that they are, they insist on learning the hard way.
Too bad millions of innocent people may suffer for the sake of these punks' snot-nosed narcissism.
There are a lot of college aged students who might support Ron Paul, instead of voting for Obama again. Works for me!
Rand Paul is finished, for any VP or Presidential bid, ever, if Ron Paul does this.
****************
Rand Paul disagrees with his dad Ron on most/many issues and, to my knowledge, has never expressed his support for the radical views of his dad. ...Don’t write off Rand for a possible influential position in our government.
They better throw him a bone.....
The GOPE treated him about like Akin
You have to wonder....are they that stupid
Good point
Hey Ron! Think of your brilliant son’s political career!
I don’t care how good Rand is, if Ron does this, Rand goes down.
Exactly. Couldn’t he also be’selected’ by that Americans Select Democrat front group that got their name on all fifty ballots as well?
So the “Tonight Show” has aired in the Eastern, Central, and Mountain time zones...any word on an announcement? About ready to come on here in PDT.
