....continuing to call out patriotic citizens as to be morons, stupid, or from some as unpatriotic or even resorting to use the word traitor; because they have a different view of thought; only makes the division even further within. All it was from me was to say that anyone of us has the right to run/try to run for any office. I’d rather be on that side versus screaming to people whom I meet due to what or who they want to support. I don’t live in the Commonwealth of Virginia any longer. If I did, I would be voting straight conservative down the ticket. If Mitt is so great, stop worrying about any other candidate for Pete’s sake. From your view, Virgil may get 100 votes from his neighbors and church congregation. This thread proves one thing; it shows why a third party will be hard to build in the future. People shoot down people who at least try to build ground work for others to contribute over time.

I hope so, too, but if the election is very close, even a 1% for Goode could prop up Obama. I had long assumed that VA would go GOP by 52%-47% or so, but polls stubbornly have shown Obama either ahead or in a virtual tie in the state.

Sometimes you have to take the lesser of two evils. Obama is evil and is destroying our country. If Obama wins things will be much worse. Romney vs. Obama is the difference between a bad cold and incurable cancer.

The lesser of two evils is still evil. Who would you vote for, Judas Iscariot or Pontius Pilate?

Even if Romney doesn't make things better he won't make things as bad as Obama.

I am actually very afraid of a Romney presidency.....there is still quite a bit of RINO infestation within Congress. I imagine a RINO led Congress would come up with all manner of "great" things like shamnesty. I imagine 0Care will still stand and fully expect our "reach-across-the aisle" friends to stab us in the back and work through some democrat agenda items, you know in the name of bipartisanship. All rubber stamped by Romney.

If you think there is no difference between Obama and Romney then you should add to your gun collection and stack up on ammo. You should probably grow your own food too. Things are going to get bad.

Thanks for the advice......that's what I've been doing. I've been phasing out all non-necessities and working towards going Galt. My goal is to try to teach my kids to be self sufficient.

I believe things are going to be bad no matter who wins. If I'm wrong, I've lost nothing. If I'm right, I'm hopefully prepared. But at least, my conscience will be clear.

There is no substantive third party effort just an effort to remake the existing party. With more people self identifying as republican we now have a real opportunity.

In 2004 and ‘08, I voted for the Constitution Party presidential candidates. I thought that Bush and McCain were too liberal, and I knew that Kerry and Obama would easily win my state, Illinois.

I think that, this year, IL will be a swing state, along with KY, MO, WV, NC, ME, and MT. I hope that all anti-Obama voters, who live in those states, will cooperate and vote for Romney.

Voting for the Republican Houses doesn’t mean one is supporting the GOP-e or abortion. If Republicans win the White House, it’s a shared victory, not one owned by the GOP.

We don’t win the battles of reform at this level, it’s done at the grass roots which is inevitably responsible for feeding the GOP-e machine and the Liberal candidates it promotes.

I understand the contempt for Romney, but Life and Liberty have better odds with three Republican Houses than two.

If you were to vote for POTUS (R), Romney would be hitching a ride on your choice for a Republican White House.

There is always third party's. They aren't going to be any more successful this year than any other. The Constitution Party will get some tiny fraction of the vote and be a insignificant footnote in history like all the others. The most it can do is take a point or two away from Romney in VA. For those here that are actively rooting against Romney (and for Obama), I guess that's something.

I’ve cast symbolic votes myself when the outcome was a foregone conclusion, but never if I thought that it could result in the most dangerous candidate winning. I agree with you that IL was safely Democrat in the 2004 and 2008 presidential races and that voting for Randy Shufflebeam (wasn’t that the 2004 candidate’s name) or whomever would have no effect on the election in IL. And I’m glad to hear not only that someone like you with your ears on the ground in the Chicago suburbs thinks that IL will be very close this November, but that you will do your part to try to give Obama the biggest embarrassment of his political life by defeating him in IL in a presidential election.
