It is, Julio Vildosola concedes, a very big bet.
After working six years as a senior executive for a multinational payroll-processing company in Barcelona, Spain, Mr. Vildosola is cutting his professional and financial ties with his troubled homeland. He has moved his family to a village near Cambridge, England, where he will take the reins at a small software company, and he has transferred his savings from Spanish banks to British banks.
The macro situation in Spain is getting worse and worse, Mr. Vildosola, 38, said last week just hours before boarding a plane to London with his wife and two small children. There is just too much risk. Spain is going to be next after Greece, and I just dont want to end up holding devalued pesetas.

Many in Southern California deal with snow and snow conditions so infrequently they forget that at 9,000 feet temperatures can easily drop to _120 F and to below _200 F above timberline. The annual average snowfall in the San Bernardino National Forest is about 6 feet and has reached 15 feet. Snow with gale winds can produce a "whiteout" and bring wind-chills to below -500 F.Source

I want the whole county covered with 4’ of snow, not just a handful of mountains.

Now you're changing your specification.
Masticate feces. It happens every year. You can live in desert Palm Springs, get on the tram and find four feet of snow at the other end.

Being that Absolute zero is defined as -459.67 °F your cited source stating
Snow with gale winds can produce a "whiteout" and bring wind-chills to below -500 F.
seems to be off the scale. How do Californians do that?

WOW, -500F windchill? You need a different source. According to our physics, that is impossible, since absolute zero is about -459 F.

How do Californians do that?By electing the likes of Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, and Linda Sanchez. Their level of coldness is beyond absolute zero.

seems to be off the scale. How do Californians do that? The source didn't say that. It said -50°F. I ran Acrobat OCR on it and copied it without proofing the OCR. You can thank Californians for the imperfect OCR. Adobe is headquartered in San Jose.

I understand. How many times did Adobe demand you update before allowing you to use their software?

Could not the guy wait until after Nov. 6, 2012? If Romney is elected POTUS, he would have been better to bet on the USA. Another possibility would have been Canada.
If he wanted to stay in Europe, he could try Luxembourg.

We see it all the time in the US with Northeastern Socialists moving into once conservative, stable states and turning them into unsustainable Workers Paradises.I only hope California will continue to serve as the nation's magnet for communists, militant homos, illegals, parasites, and various and sundry goofballs of every kind. As long as there continues to be a GOP House firewall against the communists, normal, traditional, working American families should remain relatively safe. Still, that firewall cannot be counted on forever. As Dear old Dad always said, "Once the parasites outnumber the hosts, it's all over." That is exactly what we are seeing in old Europe.

If he wanted to stay in Europe, he could try Luxembourg.I'd go to work in Luxembourg at the drop of a hat. Much better than the UK, IMO. I played golf many times at the country club next to the Luxembourg airport. Nice course, and I was always treated magnificently. It was about an hour drive from where I was stationed in Germany in the late 70s.

You can have any kind of weather you want in California, from 134° down to 90° below.

You can have any kind of weather you want in California, from 134° down to 90° below. That's a 224° spread. And yet they fret so much over a possible +2° to 3° average over the next century...go figure. ;-)

That's a 224° spread. Yup. The places capable of that spread are but fifteen miles apart: Death Valley and Telescope Peak.
