I may be mistaken, but I believe that if you are diagnosed and “registered” as having a mental illness of ANY kind [at the VA], you are no longer permitted to own/buy firearms.

I wouldn’t want any federal agency to label me with a mental disorder. I was a psychological examiner for many years. I was aware that any label I gave a person was going to be attached to that person the rest of his/her life.

I fear the government “rush and diagnose” “x” number by December, wouldn’t be as concerned as I was to make sure that label was correct. I hope our military men/women stay away from that process. If a mental disorder is suspected, it would be better to go to a private psychologist for an evaluation. At least that psychologist wouldn’t have the breath of the government down his/her neck wanting a mental disorder to make their numbers by December and thereafter.

It is my opinion, if Romney is elected, this executive order should be recinded the first day he is president.
