Douglas Band, former President Bill Clintons top aide, plans to vote for Mitt Romney in November, according to a report in The New Yorker.
In an extensive article on the complicated and often unpleasant relationship between Bill Clinton and President Obama, the New Yorkers Ryan Lizza reports that Band intends to cast his ballot for the former Massachusetts governor this fall.
According to two people with direct knowledge, Douglas Band has said that he will vote for Romney, Lizza writes. Band declined to comment.
Lizza explains that Band believes an Obama defeat will bode well for Hillary Clintons presidential prospects.
For [Bill] Clinton, the politics are more complicated, he writes.
His associates take it as a given that he would like nothing more than to see his wife become President. Hillary Clinton will step down as Secretary of State after the campaign and begin the process of deciding whether she will run in 2016. By some measures a defeat for Obama in November would leave Hillary the undisputed leader of her party and propel her toward the Oval Office that much faster. At least one of Clintons closest advisers seems to be backing that strategy.
Lizza describes Band, 39, as Clintons closest political adviser.
Bill Clinton will give a keynote address to the Democratic National Convention Wednesday night
The Wicked Witch of the East.
Hello....Clinton is a DISGARCED IMPEACHED President that got BLOW JOBS from a White House INTERN and LIED about UNDER OATH!!! He LOST HIS LAW LICENSE also!!! And He is the BEST DEMOCRAT they HAVE!!! LOL!!!! What a freaking JOKE.
O<G!! is that PHOTO-SHOPPED FUGLY?????
Don’t get your hopes up. Bill Clinton will not use that speech to undermine 0bama. But Romney-Ryan better have a battery of commercials loaded up that explicitly document on-the-record comments by Clinton that both criticize Obama and praise Romney. There are many from which to choose. This is low-hanging fruit that better be picked.
Him and Sandra Fluke is all they have?
Can’t wait to watch for the comedy factor alone.
Clinton is going to vote for Romney. No question about it. Clinton despises Obama.
Sadly I am too. Even more sadly I would say more like an Al Gore or John Kerry than a Bill Clinton.
I didn’t photoshop it. Maybe Hillary did to make herself look better. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Agreed on this.
How could he not despise the man? What I DON'T understand is the silence from George W Bush. At least Bill Clinton has an excuse to hide his hatred for Obama - he's a democrat who gets paid a lot of money to make speeches that help others in his party get elected.
What's Bush's excuse for watching this destruction?
Mitt Romney wasn't my first choice, either. Or second, or third.
But he's a mountain of morality, compared to Bill Clinton.
And a patriot who loves his country, compared to John Kerry.
And a man of depth and intelligence, compared to Al Gore.
Even if the Clinton’s actually vote for Romney, they will never admit it.
Of course not, the only reason why Obama chose Hillary to be his Secretary of state is because the Clintons have the goods on Obama and Obama has the goods on the Clintons, its mutual blackmail between the two of them
I agree with everything you said but he is our version of Al Gore or John Kerry when it comes to having core beliefs.
Eh, he picked his favorite democrat of the two leading contenders...
Oh man, that’s gotta hurt. Right before the convention. Tap into that ‘if we PUMAs had been listened to, we wouldn’t be in this goddamn mess’.
Who is Douglas Band ? I thought I knew all of the toon’s mafia .
Just seen the Bill Clinton commercial for Obama, and after 4 years of failure, if he could just be given the chance to do things like Clinton did, raise taxes and increase regulation, everything is going to...unbelievably stupid logic. Business are not going to be able keep up with the cost when they can’t already.
