What is riskier than living poor in America? Seriously! What in the world is riskier than being a poor person in America? I live in a neighborhood where people are shot on my street corner. I live in a neighborhood where people have to figure out how to get their kid into school because maybe it will be a good school and maybe it wont. I am sick of the idea that being wealthy is risky. No. There is a huge safety net that whenever you fail will catch you and catch you and catch you. Being poor is what is risky. We have to create a safety net for poor people. And when we wont, because they happen to look different from us, it is the pervasive ugliness." -- Melissa Harris-Perry; MSNBC host, September 1, 2012

The hyphenated Ms. Melissa Harris-Perry has a temper tantrum on the air, starting about 1:25 on the video. It is incredible to watch (and very cringe worthy).
The round table is liberals talking to each other about how right they always are. Suddenly, the conversation become poisonous, as the MSNBC propagandist introduces the race card (people 'who look different' from Republicans), and then throws out good old red-meat Communism as a solution to someone else having a $1 more than anyone else.
Watch the entire rant by this racist liberal who gets paid to spew this garbage by MSNBC. She is literally screaming directly at the one white woman who is on the panel, venting her rage, hatred, and envy with tirade after tirade.
I know MSNBC's standards are pretty low, but this is low even for them. These are in the infantile brats of the Left. The "poor" in this nation have cars, flat screen, free "Obama-Phones", ATM EBT cards, cash payouts, subsidized housing, free education, free healthcare at any ER, free vaccinations, and they pay ZERO in Federal taxes. There is a reason God commanded us not to covet - they Demconcrats are the party of the wicked and the immoral.

Good job of missing the point.
Of course poor people lead riskier lives than rich people. Though the crimes committed against them are almost always by other poor people, while she implies it is something being done to the group by outsiders.
The issue was one of entrepeneurs taking economic risk, the chance of losing money they already had, for the possibility of increasing their money. That’s a totally different issue.
I’m curious if she actually still lives in the ghetto, as she says in her tirade. If so, why?

My question would be if she has managed to get a gig on MSNBC she must have accomplished something even if by liberal standards.
So what the hell is she doing still living in that crappy neighborhood...

That cruel MSNBC must be paying her half of peanuts.
Or she’s one of the glorified near-homeless that the fawning liberals gave a cameo on their show, but didn’t actually want to help out. Because if they helped her out, she might not rage so much and therefore might not be as entertaining.

She states that she lives in a neighborhood where people are shot on the street corner. Why does she live there ? She isn’t poor. She says poor people look different. Do They? I know a lot of poor white people who look a lot like me and they don’t shoot people on the street corner.
She cries for a safety net for the poor.Don’t they already have one? Food Stamps ? Welfare? Free clinics? Free food at school? Free abortions?
I guess we will never tire of the unending whining of people who remain in ignorance and like it that way.
