JW Marriott Thanks Romney for Bringing Attention to Mormonism

BOSTON — The head of the prominent Marriott hotel chain and fellow Mormon J.W. Marriott thanked Mitt Romney today during a Mormon church service for bringing “positive attention” to the religion, which is often considered to be shrouded in mystery.

“There has never been as much positive attention to the church, thanks to the wonderful campaign of Mitt Romney and his family,” Marriott said during a service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wolfeboro, N.H., the lakeside town where the Romney family has a home.

Marriott’s remarks come after a noticeable shift in the campaign to highlight Romney’s faith, a subject that has been rarely spoken about publicly by the candidate and his wife until last week, when both mentioned Mormonism in their speeches at the Republican National Convention. Additionally, several speakers arranged by the campaign to appear at the RNC highlighted the candidate’s strong ties to his faith.

Romney and Ann Romney, who sat six rows back in the church this morning, showed little reaction to Marriott’s testimony, according to a small group of reporters who accompanied the couple inside.

You have to keep up with the waffle-of-the-week to know the current score with Mitt on this.

“Like I said, pig-headedness.”

You propagandist, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you quote the scripture or even explain your heretical position. You just insist we are in need of God’s forgiveness for pointing out that Mormonism is an anti-Christian cult. Either put up or shut up. These one liners are obnoxious.

“Romney never discouraged abortions.”

According to Beck, he did so within his congregation and in his private life, and only there. Other stories seem to confirm this. That appears to be inconsistent, until one thinks it through. The population pools are different, so consistency need not matter one whit.

And there you go “according to Beck”, a Romney supporter (stooge) from the beginning.
Abortions are a-ok with mormonism, as long as you ask the lds godS for permission.

Mormon rituals, learn secret handshakes, avoid cokes and coffee...

Giving up Cokes I could handle, but I'd backslide every morning when I had my half a pot of Maxwell House Breakfast Blend.

"I would vote for a Buddhist against Obama.

I would vote for a Hindu against Obama."

Hear, hear. I would vote for a future god form the planet Kolob before I would vote for Obama.

We have had plenty of Mormons in high office, in the military and intelligence agencies.

Somehow, I didn’t really expect your Alinsky tactics to allow you to not get the last word.

Reminds me of that episode from Seinfield. “NO HEAVEN FOR YOU!” and then they snatch away your salvation.

“And you would be wrong.”

Here’s the post responded to:

“Don’t know about theology, but an individual who has been baptised in the name of the Trinity is considered Christian by Catholics—they are part of the Church, if not the fullness of it, and Christians because of this, at least to my understanding. So if a Baptist wants to be a Catholic he or she doesn’t have get Baptised again; they are already Christian. The Baptist tradition is Christian Baptism, the understanding of the Trinity is Christian.

As far as LDS, I think they seem to be outstanding as far as their voting habits generally. I believe they voted against Reid handily in NV against Angle.”

I think it is wrong to not bother to specify what I said that was wrong.

You are incorrect. Mormons do indeed claim to be Christian. However, Mormons claim not to be Protestant.

The county with the highest LDS % (70% LDS)—Lincoln county if I recall, voted for Angle over Reid by a handy majority.

J.W. Marriott should also thank Zer0 for bringing attention to Black Liberation Theology that his pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright preached in his Chicago church. Oh, I forgot. Everyone and their dog has done their damnedest to ignore Zer0’s religious influence.

It is interesting that another science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard, invented the religion Scientology. Scientology believes that humans are immortal and the soul ("thetans") reincarnate and have lived on other planets before living on Earth.

I think Joseph Smith may have plagiarized his Book of Mormon from the 1823 book View of the Hebrews by Ethan Smith, the Apocrypha, The Golden Pot, by German author E.T.A. Hoffmann, and even from dreams of his own father. Through these sources, Smith was able to weave a hodge podge of writings that has captivated the fantasies of believers for 182 years. It is interesting how science fiction has such a strong appeal.

By the way, both Scientology and Mormonism are cults. However, if I were to have a cult, it would be Mormonism because of its benevolent influence.

As Winston Churchill once said:

"If Obama ran against Satan, I would make at least make a hearty endorsement for the devil in the House of Commons".
