Obama Dems: Republicans Want 1950s, 1812, Jim Crow, Slavery
Breitbart ^

Posted on 09/02/2012 6:42:52 PM PDT by chessplayer

It’s clear that Barack Obama and his Democrats are out of ideas; they are using their party’s ancient and antiquated technique of painting the Republican Party as reactionary. The latest example came today courtesy of fly-by-night Los Angeles mayor and Democratic National Convention chairman Antonio Villaraigosa. Appearing on Fox News Sunday, he said that the Republican platform “looks like the platform of 1812”, adding “Reagan would be turning in his grave" to hear some of the proposals coming from the GOP.

"Why is this man in office instead of jail?"

What is "because he is a Democrat"?

I'll take "painfully obvious answers" for 200 next Alex. ;-)

The Jim Crow laws were all written and enacted by democraps.

At some point, that is going to get out and be all over the airwaves. Don't know what the catalyst headline will be...something like the one that headlines this thread.

Dems are terrified that it's going to happen. And it will before too long IMO.

[Villaraigosa] said that the Republican platform “looks like the platform of 1812”

How could that be so?

In 1812, the two major parties in this country were the the Republican Party, which would change its name to the Democratic Party in 1840, and the Federalist Party. The overriding issue in 1812 was the war that had recently broken out with Britain. "On to Canada!" was the slogan of the Republican Party while the Federalists ran on a "peace" platform.

I doubt if there is anyone, Democrat or Republican, in this country today who wants to take over Canada.

And it is exactly this sort of hysteric that has given Romney/Ryan a 15-20% advantage over Obama/Biden with the Independents.

It foolishness, it’s folly, and it’s a lie.

That's all true, but the problem is these lies are willingly put forth and defended by the MSM, which in turn give Obama and his henchmen power because these lies help shape public opinion.

All of these lies need constant rebuttal.

Time to take these 'Rats and the head 'Rat 0bamugabe back to school ...

Q - In 1957, what Governor of Arkansas refused to protect black students seeking to attend Little Rock High School?

A - It was racist 'Rat Orval Faubus, and it was REPUBLICAN President Dwight Eisenhower who sent federal troops to Arkansas to secure the civil rights of those students, basically bitch-slapping the segregationist Faubus, and rightly so.

Q - In 1963, what Governor of Alabama stood in the school hosue door, refusing entry for black students at the University of Alabama, stepping aside only when confronted by federal marshals and the Deputy Attorney General of the United States?

A - It was again, DEMOCRAT George Wallace who proclaimed at his inauguration as governor earlier that same year, "I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever!
(to his credit, Wallace later denounced and disavowed his earlier racist beliefs and was elected to his final term of Governor with major support from black voters).

Q - What later Governor of Georgia provided pick handles for the implied purpose of assaulting blacks attempting to enter his 'Pickrick Restaurant', and actually pulled a gun on blacks seeking to enter?

A - Lester Maddox, DEMOCRAT.

Q - What 'Commissioner of Public Safety' in Birmingham Alabama authorized the used of fire hoses, police dogs, and police violence against peaceful civil rights protesters in 1963?

A - Eugene 'Bull' Connor, DEMOCRAT and former member of the Ku Klux Klan.

And for all the marbles:

Q - What Senator from West Virginia said "I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."?

A - You know it, none other than Robert Byrd, former Kleagle and Grand Cyclops in his local unit of the West Virginia Ku Klux Klan.

The examples go on and on and on, so if 0bama and his goons want to talk about racism, they need only look in the mirror and note the political party to which they belong, the DEMOCRAT Party, the party of bigotry and institutional racism.

I doubt if there is anyone, Democrat or Republican, in this country today who wants to take over Canada.

I do, I will trade them the North East corner of the USA and the West coast for the middle portion of Canada. Then the socialists in Quebec and the North East can freeze and starve while we get the oil sands in Alberta

the GOP wants the 1950’s back

Does the GOP really want to go back to a time when the Democrats ran Congress, "Modern Republicans"--now called RINOs--ran their party, and Human Events was a newsletter consisting of six 8.5 X 11 pages?

Yeah! Time marches on. It was not long ago Sarah said we should party like it is 1773. The media was apoplectic about that. They can’t stand any talk of the Founders and what they stood for. So yes, now it is 1776 and hopefully on November 6 will come the ‘shot heard around the world’.

Ah, Lester Maddox. Isn't he the guy who ran on the same ticket with Jimmy Carter? The Dems sure know how to pick them.

(Lester's the one with the pistol in his hand. Lester Jr. is the one wielding the axe handle.)

“Obama Dems: Republicans Want 1950s, 1812, Jim Crow, Slavery….”

Well, I wouldn’t mind going back to 1953, the good, the “bad”, all of it.
No apologies, either.

There were no Republicans in 1812.

Yes, anyone who has ever studied American history seriously at all knows that today's Republican Party was founded c. 1854.

As the article points out, Villaraigosa's remarks are just plain stupid. We don't call them Dummycrats without reason.

I was just thinking why he would pick the year 1812 to associate with the current GOP platform. The most immediate event that comes to mind from that year is the War of 1812 against the British. If you want to think about a modern-day war with the UK, think Obama and his return of the Churchill bust and his "dissing" of the Queen - certainly more anti-Brit than anything in the GOP platform! Of course, Obama still has a chip on his shoulder against the Brits stemming from his identification with his Kenyan heritage.
