The sand sculpture of President Obama that looked a little like an addition to Mount Rushmore has been washed away in a rainstorm, thus depriving Democrats of a place to worship their leader.
A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama -- an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.
Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade of the waist-up rendering of the chief executive.
The sand sculpture was protected from above, and Mr. Obama's face didn't see too much damage. But the storm was so strong that its heavy winds blew the rain sideways, pelting the president's right side and leaving the sand pockmarked and completely erasing his right elbow.
Democrats' choice of Charlotte has drawn criticism from unions who don't like North Carolina's labor laws, and the state seems to be tilting away from Democrats politically.
The large Rushmore-style sculpture drew comparisons to Mr. Obama's 2008 convention in Denver, when he accepted his party's

Like tears in the rain...
(Of course, I dare not quote the following line...)
Repaired
I thought it was only the undecideds that have been damaged. It would surely be bad news if the damage extends into his base now.
Thanks to the rain, the sand _ _ _ _ _ _ got a bath.
Well then it could have been somewhat useful. They could have put it on the streets for traction.
Actually they fixed the statue and it’s still standing.
Giant Obama sand sculpture stands near convention (they repaired it after the rain)

From an earlier posted article it’s my understanding the pagan sculpture was repaired by the Great One’s worshipers, and now awaits his heinous’s grandiose arrival.
Oh, and they left out the "b"....
"the base had brain damage"
can’t be obama, ears too small
The ego is astounding. He thinks this will ATTRACT independents?
The Messiah’s sand sculpture immediately reminded me of the Twilight Zone episode, “The Little People.”

Fast forward to the 7:00 minute mark and watch. . . .then at the 7:35 mark. . .well, you just have to see.
The watch the next segment at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neNfsK5UYsI&feature=relmfu
Seriously, this is The Messiah.
We can only hope the “little people” do to The Messiah’s sculpture what the little people did.
You know who that goofy, toothy look on Obama’s face resembles?
“Bob,” the guy on the late night commercials for “male enhancement” pills.
I swear, this Obama-idolotry business ever since those Roman Columns in Colorado, has just gone on too much now. Sick of it.
Looks like a hotel doorman.
No mention of the fact that there were multiple sand sculptures on the beaches in Tampa Bay for the RNC. Not surprisingly, all got washed away by Isaac.
Yet, the news focuses upon a rain event threatening an image of the POTUS as if it was an act of ‘lese majesty’ (an act against the dignity of the king). Gee, you’d think that it was an image of a Kennedy?!?!
“Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!”
Is that writing actually on the sculpture?
In the words of the adolescent youth in “Animal House”,
“Thank You, Gawd!”
In microcosm, this brilliantly demonstrates what’s wrong with this mis-administration. I’d like to know just who it was that gave the final OK...Valerie the Iranian, MOO-chow, Ker-Plouffle, or...? Who thought that O’Buddha in sand, and outdoors, of all things, would be a great symbol of this _residency? And why were there no sane people to raise the obvious objections to this stupid idea? In short, there seem to be NO sane people in the coterie surrounding the Commander-in-Ears...and that’s a HUGE problem.
