CarMax co-founder and former CEO Austin Ligon, who will be a featured speaker at the Democratic National Convention, says he and his company's 17,000 employees aren't responsible for his billion dollar company, the government is:

As President Obama has said, I didn't do it alone. I succeeded because we had a committed team of CarMax associates working round the clock to build our business. We found ready capital from healthy and flexible capital markets that allowed us to grow. We benefited from an effective national transportation infrastructure that let us move products from one market to another, and we had cooperation and assistance from federal, state, and local governments in providing clear rules of the road that let us plan and grow our business.

1. I’ve met this guy before. Didn’t know he was a Democrat.

2. If the government is so good at building businesses, why are they $16 trillion in debt and have little to show for it. If the federal government were publically traded, who would invest?

I see those Komen labels atop a certain brand of yogurt now.

Komen made a perfectly logical move to try to get out from under those abortion harpies — it said it was going to refocus on (oh, the shock and horror) women’s breast cancer. As PP couldn’t certify that the dough it was getting from Komen all or mostly went to mammograms, the only thing that PP did that was focused upon breast cancer, Komen said the kibosh on that. Well, the screaming from liberals could be heard to the planet Pluto, and Komen capitulated toute suite. Cowards!

Why I’m standing with President Obama

By Jim Sinegal, former CEO and co-founder of Costco
July 23, 2012

When my partner Jeff Brotman and I opened our first warehouse in Seattle in 1983, we started with nothing but our own initiative and our personal credit cards that we used to pay for our startup expenses.

I just don’t understand business owners who associate their businesses with a political stand once side or the other. What is there to gain?

Thanks for your admission Austin. If I ever need a late model second hand car, I will take my business to someone who DID build their business and is not ashamed to admit it.

Work on him.

Ask him why Obama thinks he didn’t build his own business.

Ask him why Obama thinks business owners like him need to only work for the common good and not for themselves.

Ask him if he thinks he should get up every morning for the sole purpose pof supporting government programs for others who don’t have to get up in the morning.

Ask him why he would vote for someone who doesn’t think he should make a profit.

You might gain two votes for our side.

“We benefited from an effective national transportation infrastructure that let us move products from one market to another, and we had cooperation and assistance from federal, state, and local governments in providing clear rules of the road that let us plan and grow our business.”

And doesn’t everybody else have access to those resources? So how come you were the one that ended up building CarMax and not anyone else?

And when you used those resources did you not pay for them?

And if the “government” built those resources they built it because we the people, the “government’s” bosses, gave them the money and hired them to build it.

You moron!

Obama’s sticking to “his guns” is not admirable. It is a sign of just how much of a committed Marxist he is despite the acknowledged failure of communism, marxism and some brands of socialism to improve the life of people without having to kill tens of millions of them to try and make it work.

Obama is a communist fanatic, extremely racist, anti-American, politically ignorant on purpose, and delusional.

Some would call him the Messiah. Sane people call him insane. There is a difference.

This is quite ridiculous rationale...someone had the idea and then went forward with it and recruited people to get the idea going. The roads and bridges exist from the businesses providing capital to build them and then maintain them and build more - he has it in reverse as to which made what. He’s completely wrong in his logic and rationale - obviously very partisan.
