Sheriff Joe Arpaio Will Not Face Charges After Federal Investigation Is Closed

The federal abuse-of-power investigation into America's self-proclaimed toughest sheriff – Maricopa County sheriff Joe Arpaio – has been closed, with prosecutors saying no charges will be filed.

Authorities were investigating Arpaio for his part in failed public corruption cases against officials who were at odds with him. The sheriff brought cases against a judge and two county officials in 2009.

Federal authorities also said that they have decided to not prosecute matters tied to alleged misuse of county credit cards by sheriff's officials, alleged misspending of jail-enhancement funds and other matters.

"They did their investigation, they didn't find enough probable cause and they didn't bring an indictment," Arpaio said at a hastily called news conference after returning from the Republican National Convention in Florida. "We don't go around framing anybody. My people are not crooks."

Assistant US attorney Ann Birmingham Scheel released a statement saying her office "is closing its investigation into allegations of criminal conduct" by current and former members of the sheriff's and county attorney's offices. .

The DOJ:"We do not believe the allegations presented to us are prosecutable as crimes."

How inconvenient.

I am shocked, shocked! that the NOG (Nazi-Occupied-Government) couldn't dredge up a single violation of illegality against America's Sheriff, Joe Arapaio.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a true life American hero, whose going up against America's greatest enemies, in upholding the law, protecting the US Constitution, the very anathema of which has been a pulsating thorn in the side of the DOJ, AG Eric Holder, the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is the Obama Administration.

There are still too many Americans living in this country. The communists wouldn’t dare throw an American hero in prison for no reason. I think it would get pretty damn ugly pretty damn quick.

After the election Eric the red will decide, depending on the outcome.

Sheriff Joe can't be intimidated and the DOJ bluffers had to finally tuck their tails and slink away. Well done, Sheriff!

“In the separate probe, which is still ongoing, the justice department says Arpaio’s office racially profiles Latinos, retaliates against critics of its immigration patrols and bases its immigration patrols on racially charged citizen complaints that did not allege crimes. The sheriff denies the allegations.

And in the civil case, the Latino plaintiffs aren’t seeking monetary damages. Instead, they want a declaration that Arpaio’s office uses racial profiling and an order requiring policy changes. If Arpaio loses the case, he won’t face jail time or fines.”

I, unfortunately, naively thought this matter had been cleared.

The Feds should have to pay court costs and lawyer fees for frivolous prosecutions, and it should come straight out of Eric Holder’s paycheck.

Hey Just-Us Dept. Try to trump up more charges, will ya? You already look like fools.

Ooops! Whenever Holder is faced with somebody who actually knows the law, he loses.

The timing of the federal authorities' announcement – at 5pm on a Friday before a holiday weekend – was questioned by some Arpaio critics. "It is a miscarriage of justice that the federal government is dropping its case against sheriff Arpaio and to make such an announcement on the Friday night before the Democratic National Convention can only be politically motivated to shield the administration from criticism," Pablo Alvarado, director of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, said in a statement.

You have to love the spin on this too. The people who were ill-served by the case being dropped announced surreptiously, were the people who wanted the case to go forward!.

I would love to see Sheriff Arpaio take Holders job when Romney becomes president. There would be a lot of corrupt lowlifes soiling themselves if that ever happens.

Holder was on a bigger fishing expedition than Bass Pro Roland Martin ever thought about going on.

Problem was, Holder's mob of DOJ lawyers didn't catch a thing in 'Lake Arpaio' and Roland can load the boat anywhere...anytime....even in your backyard fish-free swimming pool.
