Romney’s PERSONAL pick of Paul Ryan is what started the gears turning in my head about him. He went against the advice of his advisors and picked a real, true, TEA Party Conservative.

That is another good sign.

But I need more. I need something from Romney (or a very highly-placed surrogate, so that Obama cannot run against the Tea Party) that this Rule went too sweeping, too far.

One picks a VP to shore up the vote the presidential candidate may not have or is weak in the group - get Ryan for the Tea Party vote, so he did. More absolute, concrete planning. Ryan gets put in the VP office and that puts him on ice - in the cooler.
