It’s one of those things that at the moment, you think, what the heck is this. But afterwards, as you think about his performance, it grows on you. You realize it wasn’t a speech, but a didactic theatrical piece. It was not like anything that has been done before at a convetion, and it was effective for making a point, in the inimicable style of Eastwood.

To me, this was not a speech at all. It was a man on the stage, who had the attentention of those in attendance. Love Mr. Eastwood, always have. If I Thought this was a speech I would be disappointed, however, I feel it was a man who was invited to speak at the RNC, which is exactly what he did.

I’m a long time Clint fan and was a supportive constituent when he was my mayor in 1986-87. But, I was uncomfortable with this performance. It had some zingers, yet I didn’t think it fit, or complimented the evening slate.

We liked the speech, for 82 years old and off the cuff he did fine. I wish he had combed his hair before he went out though.

Favorite Clint movies are: Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, Kelly’s Heroes, Where Eagles Dare, Escape from Alcatraz, The Eiger Sanction, Play Misty for Me, and the Rawhide TV series.

Clint stumbled a couple times, he’s 82. He did fine.

A sane person has to love Clint’s speech and his excellent presentation. It was a brilliant take-down of Obama, in a low key humble way! Clint pulled it off perfectly. Jimmy Stewart style. I love it.

The Dem "talking heads" and surrogates just can't bring themselves to acknowledge that the entire world "got" Eastwood's message loud and clear--and they have nowhere to hide.

Agree, too, with Applegateranch's comments on another thread about the genius of Eastwood's use of his object's own "egregious speech pattern," commonly referred to by pseudointellectual "progressives" as a sign of Obama's great intellect and deliberative style.

Another gem was his use of a former President's assessment of Romney's "stellar business performance" in this total unmasking of the great destroyer of business in America.

From Geraldo Rivera on FOX to Gloria Borger on CNN, the faux criticism and claims that Eastwood distracted from the Romney speech and Borger's claim that parts were "crass" are laughable when compared with much of the Dem performer language and inferences.

I liked the skit especially since the MSM didn’t like it.
