Palin is right.

I’ve been supporting Gingrich since Palin stood aside, and I will until he wins the election.

UNLESS he abandons and kicks aside his biggest supporter, who was kept out of the celebration.

I understand that may have been partly her choice, but there is it. Careful Mr. Romney.

Be very, very careful.

For what it’s worth , IMO many Americans who are out of work are perfectly happy accepting Welfare, Unemployment and Disability Social Security. Too many Americans are not looking for work as long as Uncle Sugar in the form of a Communist Muslim president is passing out funds.

Talk to everyone like Reagan did, and stay on message.

Good luck winning the election without conservatives.

Time to 'Quit Preaching to the Choir'

With all due respect, I have no idea what she is talking about. Tell me what Romney would have done differently last week "in order to talk to the Independents out there in America"? The whole GOP Convention was focused on Independents, particulary women Independents.

I presume “quite preaching to the choir” and “target independents” means Romney should move to the center. LOL. It will be interesting to how Palin’s supporters react to her “move to the left” message.

"We need to talk to the independents out there in America, the hard-core patriotic American who wants a job,""

Damn right. Everyone is not a small business owner!!!

The constantly discordant note for me is that the political class (which Romney abides by) always wants to court the ‘independent voter’ as if they are all moderate mushminds who are offended by taking any stances on any issues and only respond to non-committal, mealy-mouthed limp-wristedness. But the real ‘independents’ I’ve always found, who are indeed in the vein of Reagan Democrats, actually respond most to old-fashioned strength and convictions. In other words, the exact opposite. Frankly, I’m not convinced Romney is selling too well with this group that Palin is talking about, and thus the need for shoring that up.

The convention was geared to the 2-3% mushy middle independent undecidedes...why do you think there was so little hammering on Obama and he wasn’t named in person?

I have to say she’s wrong in this case.

Once again Palin is right on. The Choir is, for the most part, on the bandwagon and the effort is to bring in those that are on the fence. The hard core simple minded King Obama lovers are losers and almost impossible to even get to listen.

Hmmmmm.

This election is going to be all about base turnout. Where I’m at there is zero and I do mean zero enthusiasm for these candidates. To give you an idea of what its like, I’m in Virginia. There have been ads on for months. You can’t turn on a TV or radio and not have someone telling you why you need to vote for willard or hussein.

But the silence is deafening. No one is talking about the election.

Just for fun, I went around my neighborhood to count lawn signs and bumper stickers. There are roughly 150 houses in my neighborhood.

There were no lawn signs. Not one.

There were 5 bumper stickers. Two for hussein, one for Rick Santorum, and two Virgil Goode stickers (my cars).

That’s what willard is facing.

I think that is what most of this convention was designed to do. The choices of speakers (aside from a few rather boring dinosaurs), the fact that everyone who could included a line or two of Spanish in their speeches, the fact that they kept offering the invitation to Democrats who voted Obama last time to let it go... you voted your heart last time, now vote your head and your reality...

I think Eastwood’s goofing with an empty chair had the same intent and itself included an open invitation to Democrats. And Romney’s speech struck a tone that was designed to make Democrats feel good about crossing over.

I feel like its going to be a rout this time. I hope I’m right.

If she thinks he wasn’t talking to everyone in his speech, and only to the choir, she must’ve not watched. Or this is a stupid, misleading article.

Isn’t that why Mitt said he supports abortion for the “health” of the mother? It sure wasn’t an appeal to us.

Sorry, I gotta send Sarah to timeout. Read the speech, governor. There must be a dozen appeals to the Dems and Indies. Did you not hear the part about “Many of you felt that way on Election Day four years ago. Hope and Change had a powerful appeal. But tonight I’d ask a simple question: If you felt that excitement when you voted for Barack Obama, shouldn’t you feel that way now that he’s President Obama? You know there’s something wrong with the kind of job he’s done as president when the best feeling you had was the day you voted for him.” Mitt sure as heck wasn’t talking to the base or me with that one, cuz we didn’t vote for Obama. Nor was he talking to the base only about the promise of Obama to heal the planet and lower the oceans:
“MY promise...is to help you and your family.” Romney made it possible for Indies and Dems to feel they don’t have to vote AGAINST Obama, they can vote for somebody. If you can’t find the other ten examples in that speech, Sarah, you can always write in the chair on your ballot. Quit sulking and get on board instead of flashing around in the sea like a rogue torpedo. That goes for the rest of you with Romney Derangement Syndrome. It’s either Romney or Obama. Could it be any simpler?

I wish Sarah would just shut up. There I said it. Attack if you want but I think Mitt is doing just fine. I am so sick of being worried and fearing every day. We went through that for eight long years with W and then the last election with a candidate who had no drive. Well, Mitt has that drive and wants to win. His convention was perfection and the day after was more presidential than Barry who is defending himself with Tweets. Let’s have some confidence and just do this! And if Sarah Palin wants to join along, great...we are happy to have her support. But if not, please keep quiet.

She was giving him advice before he spoke.

His choir (as we know and she knows) is the moderate and bed solid republican voters. She is probably referring to Libertarians and of course trying to pick off Reagan democrats. She was very nice to offer help to the guy who came on after Clint :) The woman has a good heart. She is not a Gop-er. I'd trust her more than any of them and my buddy, Newt because he is smart and knows what it takes for reforms.

This note appeared yesterday, with pic attached...

From Facebook/SarahPalin:

Last night wrapped up a convention that was very encouraging; so, thank you to all who worked hard to provide needed inspiration while focusing on the U.S. economy. And for all the great speeches we heard at the convention this week and those we’ll hear next week, I sincerely hope we as Americans, despite our political disagreements, will respectfully remember our brave men and women in uniform – for they are still in harm’s way so that we can sleep in peace. Our troops in Afghanistan have suffered terrible casualties this year. We don’t hear much about this lately. You never hear our troops complain though, even when it seems like some of us safely back home enjoying the freedoms they protect too easily forget their sacrifices. But the moms wearing blue and gold stars remember. The wives and husbands raising kids alone while their spouse is in a war zone remember. The kids whose mom and dad can’t be there for birthdays and school plays and skinned knees and graduations remember. Every American who loves freedom should remember.

To our U.S. troops over there, please know that we remember your sacrifice. We support and honor you, and we pray for your safe and speedy return home where you are loved and belong.

- Sarah Palin

(She's not irrelevant to the 3,470,365 friends on her FaceBook page... of which I am 1!)
