Here are excerpts of the remarks Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney plans to deliver this evening in Tampa, Florida:
Four years ago, I know that many Americans felt a fresh excitement about the possibilities of a new president. That president was not the choice of our party but Americans always come together after elections. We are a good and generous people who are united by so much more than divides us.
When that hard fought election was over, when the yard signs came down and the television commercials finally came off the air, Americans were eager to go back to work, to live our lives the way Americans always have optimistic and positive and confident in the future.
That very optimism is uniquely American.
It is what brought us to America. We are a nation of immigrants. We are the children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the ones who wanted a better life, the driven ones, the ones who woke up at night hearing that voice telling them that life in that place called America could be better.
They came not just in pursuit of the riches of this world but for the richness of this life.

Every family in America wanted this to be a time when they could get ahead a little more, put aside a little more for college, do more for their elderly mom whos living alone now or give a little more to their church or charity.

“Citizens of their nation were not immigrants, they were merely moving to a different portion of their nation’s soil.”
Ah, wrong, sorry. Since your ancestors were not originally in the country (aboriginal) then they were nothing more than invaders to those who lived here long before they came (the aboriginals). So they were, in other words, illegal immigrants and foreign invaders.
Geez grow up, that is a junior high kids response. You’re the gal that thought the Palins lived on a reservation.
We have to defeat Obama. That’s first and foremost. You can yawn later.
“Geez grow up, that is a junior high kids response.”
An educated response that shows your lack of intellect is a junior high response? I simply show that words mean things, I can’t help it that you don’t understand how to use words correctly.
So go throw a tantrum.
Evidently not, when you think that Englishmen immigrated to English soil and that the Palins live on a reservation.
I asked you about bam’s (obama’s) military service, not Romney’s...
JC
LOL, I’m not your researcher, google it.
What have you got against immigrants? Who cares what they believe in? If they came here legally, improved not only themselves but their community, why should you belittle them for not serving in uniform? Not everyone is physically or mentally fit for life in the armed forces, and others are considered too important to leave their jobs to serve.
Half of my ancestors were here to meet the other half, and I’m talking Mayflower. Your argument is pathetic. My family has served in the military in one form or another for centuries, before there even WAS an America. Do you think I care about your opinion of Romney? Perhaps you would like Zero to continue to dismantle this country.
A person is NOT whatever religion he believes in, or whether or not he is of “military quality.” A person should be judged on his honesty, integrity and committment to bettering himself and community by doing something worthwhile, even if that means researching an opponent so one doesn’t sound like a bigot when stating “facts” about someone else.
Information I did not know, but feel everyone should. It is impressive.
You may not like/approve of the data, and that’s OK. At least they are available.
A refreshing concept.

more back to its citizens in terms of money, service and time than most men.
In 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income.... Just for comparison purposes, Obama gave 1% and Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013%.
Mitt Romney is Trustworthy:

He will show us his high school and college transcripts.
He will show us his social security card.
He will show us his law degree.
He will show us his draft notice.
He will show us his medical records.
He will show us his income tax records.
He will show us he has nothing to hide.
Mitt Romney’s background, experience and trustworthiness show him to be a great leader and an excellent citizen for President of the United States .
You may think that Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least I know what religion he is, and that he won’t desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or practice fiscal irresponsibility. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the current regime has gotten us into. We won’t like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney’s background can do it.
But, on the minus side, He never was a “Community Organizer”, never took drugs or smoked pot, never got drunk, did not associate with communists or terrorists, nor did he attend a churchwhose pastor called for God to damn the US.
You should know the difference between the men running for America ‘s top office.
Do Obama/Biden deserve 4 more years?
You know, Stupid is as stupid does!
Pass this on...It deserves to be read.
Gosh, after 6 years of freerepublic doing deep, penetrating research into the liberalism and radicalism of Mitt Romney’s history and politics, someone decides to post the postcard version of his bio as a rebuttal, with date of birth, his father’s name, and all the hard to find stuff.
sarcasm does not become you.
There wasn’t much to say, date of birth, dad’s name, his religion, what’s the point of posting that?
Five days ago Mitt formally changed his abortion position to health of the mother, which is a euphemism for abortion on demand.
What was the point of your post? To dis the man, his religion and his roots? Right. got it.
If you look at post 152, clearly the point was to let you know that Romney formally changed his abortion position five days ago, it is not what you thought it was during the primary.
It’s the kind of information that a conservative may be interested in, if one shows up.
So what? People aren’t allowed to change their minds when given more information?
Like I said: I got it.
You obviously know all there is to know about everything that matters, and education will never change your mind.
Pathetic.
Who changed their mind, and to what?
Do you mean that Mitt got more information, so he switched to being pro-abortion, and “so what”?
Wow, ansel12, I never knew all that. And people say Catholicism is weird!
Here is a taste of the Catholic take on Mormonism from ‘Catholic Apologetics’.
ARE THE MORMONS CHRISTIAN?
No. Mormons are not Christians. The Mormons will claim to be Christian because they claim to follow Christ, and believe in the Bible. They say that Jesus is a god, but not THE God. They also believe that Lucifer is the brother of Jesus.
WHAT DO MORMONS BELIEVE?
Even God was once a Man like ourselves who evolved into a god.
By following all the rules and ordinances of God here, Mormon men and women have the potential of also becoming gods. As god once was, man is. As God is, man may become (Joseph Smiths words). Mormons believe that there are many worlds and many gods. Each god is similar to God the Father, having the same powers and omnipotence, and even being able to create their own worlds. Heavenly Father is only the name of the god who rules over this world.
I know you’re not; it was a rhetorical question that you have conveniently dodged twice, as expected...
