17 million fewer viewers than last time. Not surprised. The GOP-e RINO parade is a debacle. What a terrible shame.

17 million viewers gone. You gotta love Paul Ryan but when it comes to drawing in the folks there is nobody like Sarah Palin. In 2008 we had Sarah. In 2012 we didn’t.

Case closed.

I heard some, or all, networks didn't run Condi Rice and ABC spoke to a Univision reporter while Gov. Martinez spoke in the background.

We already know about the race baiting agenda on MSNBC. Will they have conservatives anchoring their DNC convention coverage or will it be Larry, Maddow and Mathews?

The more interesting ratings race will be for the Democrat convention in Charlotte. If Fox wins that one too, then that means the commie networks don’t even appeal to the commies.

Just got a telephone call from Ramussan. They polled me on my views of the coming election. Asked specific quesions on Social Security. Even asked about Clint Eastwood.

Also to be factored into this is that viewership of the big broadcast TV networks among those 18-49 years old has decreased by 17% since the 2007-2008 season. Given that there are about 115 million households with TVs in the United States, the drop amongst 18-49 year olds could account for a very large chunk of the difference between 2008 and 2012 network viewing of the RNC and have little or nothing to do with the degree of interest then versus now. How many viewers were following it online in 2012 versus 2008?

Wait until tonight. The world's most famous Mormon is giving his acceptance right in the middle of BYU’s nationally televised opener. Not even the folks in Utah are gonna be watching the doin’s in Tampa. I'm rooting for Washington State anyway...

Viewership was also down over a recent 4 week period. ABC was down 21%, FOX was down 20%, CBS down 8%, and NBC down 3% among the 18-49 year old demographic. This was in general, having nothing to do with the content of the RNC.

I was glued to watching about Isaac on TWC, otherwise and briefly I watched Ryan give his speech on CSPAN, the other outlets I could care less for.

I record everything so I can skip every single commercial. Even TWC I was at least one hour behind so I could flippantly disregard their carnival hawkers of goods and false promises.

Yeah I hate commercials, dont’cha think?

The Big 3 coverage has been AWFUL.

I’ve resorted to PBS, which is actually covering 3hrs / night, instead of the cut-down miniscule “1 hr but 1/2 of it, liberal talk heads blabbing”.

I switched to CSPAN as did many others. The talking heads are way too annoying. They keep talking over the speaker, telling us what they said.

We are not that ignorant!

I can’t imagine any sane person watching this on anything other than C-SPAN. I can tolerate C-SPAN.

I refuse to watch those talking head traitors.

I am watching C-Span. Fox keeps taking time away from the speakers to let the talking heads tell you what you just heard.

There may be other reasons for this disparity. This year the 1st 2 nights were equal at about 20 million viewers. Last year night 2 featured Sarah Palin who hit the scene like a bombshell and caused much (deserved) excitement.

This year there was no such bombshell as Romney’s VP choice had been a matter of speculation and as such was not much of a surprise.

Like many others here have posted, I watched the convention unfiltered on C-span.
