who doesn’t despise Pelosi... she is totally self serving.

John may not be the charismatic leader Ryan or Cantor is but he is an honest man who votes consistently conservative. He doesn’t do ear marks and he doesn’t do lobbyists.

He stutters a bit when he gets nervous or excited, and he always has the back of the people he has represented. Because of his high moral character he has got the job as speaker.... obviously not be because he is the best orator.

Can we do better... perhaps. But in this time where we need the focus to be on removing Obama notice that there is no attention on the speaker or the house, and also be aware that the house has pass more bills in the last two years than the previous two before Boehner.

I trust Boehner to bring honesty and civility to a broken house, and to work every day to push the conservative agenda. I’d like to hear any respected conservative in the house bad mouth Boehner.

"Boehner has successfully blocked attempts by Tea Party members and others to insert language into the now multiple CRs that would result in the defunding of Obamacare."

NOT True:

Republicans ran their 2010 mid-term campaigns on chiefly the promise that the Democratic health care law would eventually be repealed, but in the meantime, de-funding the entire health care legislation would have to be a way to at least slow down the implementation of the law. H.R. 1 promised to accomplish the de-funding of Obamacare, but according to discoveries made by former Republican Oklahoma Congressman now a distinguish fellow at the Heritage Foundation Ernest Istook, the health care bill has a mandatory appropriation that would fund the legislation almost a decade into the future.

Google Boehner’s failure to defund Obamacare and educate yourself with respect to this particular failure.

Boner was talking about the platform. He was laughing at anyone who takes it seriously.

How would he know? He’d have to be an honest decent person.

Ninety-nine percent of Congress gives the remaining one percent a bad name.

I’ll trust the Heritage Foundation data more than some blogger.

Educate yourself with reputable data... not random Google searches.

Read the data I sent - don’t tell me to search for data supporting your position.

what are you talking about ?

or why are still responding to your perceptions on Boehner’s platform comment.... I really don’t care what you think.

You asked for data, I gave you data.

I wish all you folks bad mouthing my Representative, John Boehner had some data other than to just poke at him.

And guess what. Part of the joys of participating on an open forum is that you get to hear the opinions of people you despise. I don't care that you don't care.

Read the data I sent - don’t tell me to search for data supporting your position.

What are you talking about? Are you suffering recto-cranial inversion?

Google Boehner and see how many articles appear with "failure" in the title or in the brief description. Wake up.

You asked for data the other day when almost every poster was down on Boehner and I gave you two where he was a failure. You ignored one and focused on this one with respect to Obamacare and you refuse to see what is right before your eyes. See http://www.redstate.com/dhorowitz3/2012/07/18/127-congressmen-sign-letter-pledging-to-defund-obamacare/ and http://www.examiner.com/article/speaker-boehner-honor-your-pledge-or-resign-now.

And after you are finished there, maybe you can address Boehner's actions with respect to the Super Committee.

And after you are finished there, maybe we can discuss how Boehner worked to undermine Rep Issa's investigation into Fast and Furious.

And there is more. Boehner is more interested in obtaining a good tee time and a good slot at the tanning booth than he is interested in the welfare of the country.

Go to Rep Steve King's Congressional website and read.

ok I did go to his website and this is what he wrote:

Minority Leader John Boehner and Minority Whip Eric Cantor became the latest Members of Congress to sign King’s discharge petition, a procedural device that would force the House of Representatives to vote on repeal legislation once 218 Members of Congress sign it. In addition to signing discharge petition #11, Reps. Boehner and Cantor released a joint statement which encouraged Republican colleagues to sign as well.

Do you homework next time

you don’t bother to read do you - did you even bother to read that the bill has mandatory funding built into it.

They have to repeal the bill... and that won’t work... with Reid and Obama in play.

So quit quoting blogs trying to drive traffic to their site...

You are cherry-picking. Did you read about Rep King’s attempts to add an amendment to the CRs and how Boehner through procedural maneuvers denied their inclusion. Skip over that did you?

By the way I just went back and re-read this thread. Do you realize you are the only person defending this disaster as a Speaker? Give the thread a re-read and get back to me.

I’m not cherry picking... you can always find lots of data on both sides... Look at Boehner’s record and get back to me.

I’m probably the only one of this thread who he actually represents.... I know John and his family.... good hard working people. Most folks on the thread rather defame him than understand his reasoning.

While all this is commendable and I have absolutely no reason to believe it isn’t 100% true, it is definitely one of the reasons we have what we have.

The general consensus is “ALL politicians are terrible, they are crooks, they lie etc etc etc”

That is “Except for mine, he is a decent stand up guy”.

Well, that is why we get the same retreads ....

I’m probably the only one of this thread who [sic] he actually represents.

What??!!

He is Speaker of the House and is a direct line to become President. In that position, he represents everybody in this country.

OK. Let's move to his actions agreeing to the Super Committee which neutered the House's hard fought majority. You think this was a sign of his leadership? Puhleese!

He agreed to an equally weighted Super Committee to make budgetary decisions and if they cannot come to a decision, draconian cuts were to made to the military. Brilliant!! What a genius.

Was he late for his tee time? Or was it his hour in the tanning salon? Or, or was he on his way out to cruise the Georgetown bars?

His family may be hard working but he is out of his league.

“He is Speaker of the House and is a direct line to become President. In that position, he represents everybody in this country.”

Yes he does - but I get to vote for him you do not, and I can tell you we are all very proud of John. John is a true patriot and servant.

I’d put John up against Newt, & Denny, any day as far as being a great speaker. You all can try to judge that John isn’t doing a good job but what are comparing him too ? Everyone listens to blogs and media and assumes they understand the entire picture.... I would seriously doubt it.

Because he isn’t doing what you want you would prefer to knock him down rather than try to support, particularly when you know he is an honest joe.

These blogs are great for folks to criticize from their couches.

Mike?

Where did you go?

You asked for data, facts or proof that Boehner is a failure. Well, I’m giving them to you and you disappear.

What happened?

I thought we were going to discuss Bonehead’s, er, I mean Boehner’s actions leading up to the Super Committee?

Let me give you a preview.

Bonehead (Boehner): “We are only 1/2 of 1/3 of this government, what do you expect me to do?”

AND

Bonehead (Boehner): “It was the best deal I could get.”

What a leader!
