The movie has been and will continue to be fantastically successful. The movies’ producers don’t need CNN to make buckets of money.
How many other movie ads were rejected by the Communist News Network?
It was number 2 on Monday but fell off the rankings completely on Tuesday. It has made 10 million which is not great but I guess better than a few movies here and there.

I guess everyone saw it who is going too.

CNN would be stupid to buy ads for this movie. Most movies that CNN SHOULD purchase ads for are movies like Hunger Games that make over 400 Million. CNN is a business. They were BRILLIANT not to buy ads for this movie. I saw it Saturday but it is a movie for a VERY small group of people.
CNN doesn’t “buy” ads — they sell them! The advertising rates are the same for a movie, whether it makes $400 million or loses money. So, your point is not point at all.
It didn’t “drop off completely.” Its Tuesday numbers aren’t posted yet. I would expect it would suffer this week somewhat since the GOP convention started Tuesday. Should have another strong weekend though.
There’s an update on the web site, that CNN has reconsidered and accepted the ad with a different out take from the film.
I guess CNN had some immediate reaction to the news that they had rejected the ad.
What a moronic post! CNN is a business and they turned DOWN business by rejecting these ads. But do they reject leftist ads?
They BUY ads. They didn’t want to buy an ad for a movie that only made 10 million. Why do you not understand how it works?
So why did they turn down revenue?
I think some people may be posting past each other.
CNN sells air time [to whomever - normally!] on their network - sometimes for adverts.
“2016: The movie” buys air time on radio, TV, and website space to publicize their movie on CNN.
Or do I misundertake it?
Let’s start over. I am going to use NCIS for example. NCIS is used to show off McDonald’s for example during their commercials. CNN buys a movie to play during their movies. Not the same? I mean in the big scheme of things I guess it doesn’t matter as long as we get rid of Obama but it is interesting to learn on Free Republic.
You’re missing it.
CNN refused to sell airtime to the people that made 2016 to advertise their movie, 2016 on CNN.
Let’s pretend 2016 is Mr Clean. Mr Clean wants to sell product and they think (incorrectly) that buying airtime on CNN to advertise their product will increase their sales.
2016 is looking to PAY CNN to run their (2016) ad.
Conservatives work during the week.
They do indeed. And General Motors buys automobiles.
“It was number 2 on Monday but fell off the rankings completely on Tuesday.”
Conservatives are watching the convention. I would think it would tick back up this weekend.
