in case Savage has this thread up, Jan Brewer is there as one of our delegates, and Joe Arpaio arrived there yesterday.

I didn't watch all the speeches but I do recall a few people saying "mr president". I wish Christie had given HUSSEIN a tongue lashing, I was looking forward to it. Ann Romney did mention something about being an American, I loved it! There's a transcript on line if you missed her speech. Here's her closing remark:
"I can't tell you what will happen over the next four years. But I can only stand here tonight as a wife and a mother and a grandmother, an American, and make you this solemn commitment. This man will not fail.
You can read the whole speech here

Rush fluked up. Same as Akins in Missouri. Rush was right but put it badly, by calling her a slut.

a few people saying "mr president".
They should have followed Reagan's precedent: "Mr. Carter".
When they say 'Mr. President' or 'President Obama', they are giving him status.

Some of those hosts are also syndicated like Savage on TRN, so coming to his defense is akin to that last caller telling Savage to stop beating up other family members.
If Savage wants to switch to positive he can talk about Berns Steak House in Tampa. It's known worldwide and has a cellar with 10,000 wines with at least 1 to Savage's liking.

I also found it slightly ironic yesterday when Savage quoted Jimmy Durante, to be nice to people on the way up because you’ll meet them on the way down.

I’ve seen some stations schedules say words like “may be preempted by high school football.”
Then again, other stations carry the game on terrestrial radio for locals and the Web stream stays on the regular programming.

Doc just said something that women don’t look to other women.
There’s some degree of truth in that. Some women have told me they really don’t like working for another woman. They much prefer having a man as a boss.

RE: IIRC Jerry Doyle and Billy Cunningham and I think Laura Ingraham defended him.
(In case anyone is interest.. otherwise scroll or remember: no cussing just contumely.) :)
I recall Ms Ingraham saying nice things about Savage when Savage refused to even mention her name, instead calling her that "trans-genger with a cross." But I believe that they are on very good terms now.
The "You are a great American" was picked up from Cunningham by Hannity and is oft-heard on his show. Levin may say it from time-to-time.
Cunningham has declared that he is a fan of Savage.. but a few years ago Cunningham misinterpreted one of Savage's rants as being against him (Cunningham).
That was the time the caller told Savage that he (Savage) was a great American. Savage exploded. He screamed at the caller to never, never call his show again and then started in on Hannity and Levin without mentioning names. Savage went on to question Levin's ability as a lawyer.. again without mentioning names.
Cunningham (an attorney) thought Savage was maligning him. Cunningham played Savage's screaming rant in lieu of the regularly opening music (for a couple Sundays I believe). Cunningham could not understand why Savage would say such things about him.
I did hear Levin defend Savage vis-a-vis England. A caller surprised Levin with a question about it. Levin did not react in any fashion. He explained that the banning was wrong. He continued the conversation normally and after the call he did say something about a wiener.

Savage's comments while listening to Boehner describe his day-to-day life in the family bar are almost exactly what I say when Savage tells daily about his day-to-day life at lunch, what and how he prepared for his dinner. . . .
Some like that stuff about Savage's personal life. Of course.
