Jon got it mostly correct, but Obama didn't have to "take over" the media. It's not like there were newsroom purges of conservative reporters and editors in the past few years.

Everyone- write letters to every young journalist, editor, reporter, camera and sound guys, etc and tell them the facts of life. Maybe in a decade or so, their individual perspectives will have snapped out of this ‘cultiplication’ they’ve been programmed to proliferate.

The media has taken to fawning over the most liberal of Democrats, and cursing any Republican (no matter how liberal).
But this is not by decree, as in Chavez's Venezuala, but willingly and with full foreknowledge and malice.
