The noes clearly had it, but the party bosses gaveled the dissenters down, shutting off the microphones and ignoring cries of "Roll call! Roll call!"
Yesterday, the Republican National Committee in Tampa adopted some rules changes that shift power from the state parties and the grassroots to the RNC and the GOP presidential nominee. Former Governor John Sununu of New Hampshire touted the new rules as providing a strong governing framework for the party over the next four years. But in fact the the new rules should be very troubling and disappointing to conservative grassroots activists, because they move the national Republican Party away from being a decentralized, bottom-up party toward becoming a centralized, top-down party.
The Romney rules effectively disenfranchise grassroots delegates, and will thus tend to weaken and splinter the party over time. They specifically represent a blow to the Tea Party and the Ron Paul movement, and force grassroots conservatives of all stripes to contemplate their future within the GOP.

“Ive said this before, lots of stuff seems to happen around Mitt without him having anything to do with it.”
He is the nominee and can change any wrongdoing. The buck stops at the top!!
Well I’m f-—ing smart enough to know if you don’t get this piece of chit out of the white hut first, it won’t matter WTF Romney has done.
DO YOU GET THAT...
“He is the nominee and can change any wrongdoing.”
Ping me when he reverses Rule 12 and Rule 16, k?
I haven’t questioned your ability to think. I questioned your belief that Romney can be trusted to respect the law.
From his past history, he has ruled by executive order just as Obama has. This whole power grab of his is a case in point. Given the large number of voices in dissent, the Speaker should have called for a vote. But, these people completely ignored the fact that there was any dissent to this rule and they had Boehner “deem” the rule change as passed by unanimous consent.
I understand that you want Obama out of there. I want Obama out of there, the difference between us is that I am not willing to allow the socialists in the republican party to take away my freedoms at their “promise” to get rid of Obama. They are notoriously bad at keeping promises and it seems they would rather fight conservatives than the democrats.
ABO types say that we have to fight together to get rid of Obama. The GOP-e shows it has no desire to fight together. Instead, they pull off a blatant coup. These socialists think that conservatives are more of an enemy than Obama is.
Your need to be rid of Obama supersedes your love of your freedoms. So that is a trade you are willing to make.
No surprise here our rulers do not want grass roots movement like the Tea Party or the Paulists to gain any power within the GOP. So they are shutting them out. What is surprising is that anyone other then kool aid drinking GOPers are even contemplating voting for the Palin hating anti conservative Rove-Romney gang. That is truly mind boggling. If you are conservative, make your vote count and vote 3rd party at the top.
I don’t understand why people can’t hear mccain, Jeb Bush, Sununu, boner, McConnell and all the other gopE. They’re not conservative. They just want to hold the office for all the perks. They don’t care anymore about this country that Pelosi and Reid.
that is exactly correct. I have read that a large percentage of the voting public is conservative. what would happen if all those votes went to someone other then the Obama/Romney team? make your vote count vote 3rd party at the top.
MAYBE ? If that’s the best you can come up with the country is screwed big time .
