Democrats Tap Sen. John Kerry for Stadium Speech on Foreign Policy
Democrats will make President Obama’s foreign policy achievements a major theme of the final night of their convention next Thursday at Bank of America Stadium, ABC News has learned.
Today organizers announced that Sen. John Kerry — chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a decorated combat vet– will deliver a televised address in primetime that night, preceding Vice President Joe Biden and Obama.
Kerry is expected to tout Obama’s record on ending the war in Iraq, setting a timetable for Afghanistan, and stepping up the targeting of al Qaeda leaders, including the killing of Osama bin Laden.
“Senator Kerry will speak to how the President has restored America’s leadership in the world, has taken the fight to our enemies, and has a plan to bring our troops home from Afghanistan just like he did from Iraq,” said an Obama campaign official on condition of anonymity.
“He will contrast the president’s strong leadership in this area with Mitt Romney, who has embraced the go-it-alone, reckless policies of the past that weakened America’s place in the world and made us less secure here at home,” the official said.

Oh, yeah, THIS guy knows a lot about dealing with the realities of foreign affairs.
After all, he served in Viet Nam, and isn’t that a foreign country?
Seriously? What exactly is the foreign policy accomplishment? Bowing at a 90 degree angle to foreign leaders? Doing absolutely nothing strategic in the middle east? Alienating our historical allies?
The only thing about Obama’s foreign policy that is arguably good - is that isn’t as bad as his domestic policy.

Mocking Kerry for bragging about his service is such a disservice.
Kerry was an out and out traitor to his country while in uniform. As an anti war protestor, he met with our communist enemy in Paris, undermining peace talks which went on forever while troops died.
He has never revealed his conversations with the evil North Vietnamese because OBVIOUSLY he supported them against his own country and fellow servicemen.
John Kerry is a traitor and that is not a loose use of the word.

What foreign policy achievements? Putin is ruling Russia with the iron fist of a former KGB chief, China is buying up America, Iran is on the verge of obliterating Israel and a general malaise has engulfed the world as economies slowly drain down the toilet. Oh yeah.. I almost forgot. Obama killed Bin Laden barehanded and he closed Guantanamo Bay... Pardon me, he 'promised' to close Guantanamo, if elected again maybe that promise will come true.
Oh well… Here’s the good news. It’s going to be a real short speech.

His prime time speech will consist of a lesson in “Medal Throwing” and “After Action Report Enhancement”

Two of the Purple Hearts might have been legitimate, but he is the only living senator to receive one for shooting himself in the butt.
