Robert Gibbs: Angry night full of insults By: Kevin Cirilli August 29, 2012 12:06 AM EDT
In Tampa to lead the pushback for President Barack Obamas campaign, top adviser Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that the first night of the Republican National Convention was angry and strange and full of insults.
Im kind of flabbergasted at the whole night, Gibbs said on MSNBC after Gov. Chris Christies keynote speech. It seemed first and foremost like this was a very angry convention tonight full of insults.
He said that the nights speakers, including House Speaker John Boehner, did not capture the struggles most Americans particularly women are facing.
It bore just no real resemblance to whats going on in their party. It bore no real resemblance to whats going on in the country. I think it was a very, very strange night, he said, later adding, The night was sort of highlighted by lots of anger and lots of insults.

My more sensible and educated liberal friends have taken to posting memes and pictures on Facebook that they must know only tell part of the story.
I often remind them that the only thing that is really threatened by R&R is their progressive vision of America.
Naaahhh ... he's already "flabbered". All ya gotta do is throw a little bit of "gast" in and he's there . . . .
Prayers for you and your family. Strength to persevere and better times ahead, in Jesus’ name.
He probably didn’t even bother watching any of it. He has a message and it will resonate with the moron dem vote.
That is all that concerns him.
Robert, Robert, Robert....
Turn the page to your next set of talking points. THIS is the week for “Homophobic” and “Greedy.”
Pay attention, old boy!
IMHO one of the reasons the networks limited the time they would broadcast the convention is so the Obama forces can lie and spin what happened.
People who didn't see the speeches have the picture painted for them by Obama operatives who make sweeping accusations of attacks, etc.
What they say isn't what really happened but once the lie is told and believed it is difficult to rebut.
Also,
What’s insulting is renaming late-term abortion as “choice” and refusing to agree to medical aid to those babies who have the temerity to survive.
What’s insulting is doing a convenient, election-year flip-flop on homosexual marriage and calling it an “evolution.”
What’s insulting is leaving our military subject to a meat-axe slashing of its budget
What’s insulting is lifting his ass end to the face of every American while bowing submissively to the king of Saudi Arabia.
You give him too much credit. I put him more of a cross between Baghdad Bob and Jon Lovitz’s “That’s the ticket” SNL character.
I chose Goebbels because he was in charge of propaganda, and also thought there was a physical resemblence betwen Gibbs and Goering.
He’s speaking to those who didn’t watch, telling them what they missed, and hoping they’ll just be good little group-think democrats and spread the talking points.
Gibbs was flabbergasted after Chris Christies keynote speech? Christie’s speech was uncharacteristically polite. I’ll bet Christie was told by Romney’s pussified campaign advisors to to tone it down.
Gibbs must have been rehearsing being “flabbergasted” since last week.
Speak tough? As Chris Christie said last night it’s time to simply speak the truth. You know, that which the libs are cowering from...
Clear, organized, and concerted effort to diminish, and/or muddy the news with so many extraneous stories as to distract from the Republican’s message. It seems as if an organized criminal conspiracy is at work here. Chicago, and now National Democratic party politics on display for the world to see.
