The Romney campaign released these excerpts of Ann Romney's speech, which she'll deliver tonight at the Republican convention in Tampa: Tonight I want to talk to you from my heart about our hearts.
I want to talk not about what divides us, but what holds us together as an American family. I want to talk to you tonight about that one great thing that unites us, that one thing that brings us our greatest joy when times are good, and the deepest solace in our dark hours.
Tonight I want to talk to you about love.
Mitt's dad never graduated from college. Instead, he became a carpenter.
He worked hard, and he became the head of a car company, and then the governor of Michigan.
When Mitt and I met and fell in love, we were determined not to let anything stand in the way of our life together.
I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a storybook marriage. Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or Breast Cancer.

Well done!
This should be turned into a mailer and sent to every home in America!
It’s not that way for me, but you seem intent on the class warfare thing. I wasn’t born into money either, and we are struggling. Why your hard on against the people that create jobs?
Watching this on delayed DVR. Trying to hold back gag reflex as she says she’s going to give a speech about “love.” Seems like she then transitioned into a long series of extremely unsubtle, condescending pandering to “women.” Like “Go, women, you rock! You’re the best people in the world!” Nah, this speech wasn’t focus-grouped and poll-tested to death. OK, I liked the part about using an ironing board as a dining room table.
If Mitt can make his wife laugh so much, why hasn’t he ever made anyone in the general public laugh? I haven’t noticed a lot of wit coming from the Mitt.
Instead of saying we may not agree with his positions on issues so many times, why doesn’t she try to explain why we ought to agree with his positions on issues?
My gosh, you really are rambling and unfocused.
Why? Because you are focused on the Mormon thing?
Oh come now. I’d stack Mrs. P. Henyr up against Ann any day, and Mrs. P. Henry is 10 years older than Ann.
Keep watching. The beginning had me gagging and throwing couch pillows at the tv— but by the middle she started rocking and by the end she was taking it to the other side with gusto, class, and steel. I am NOT a Romney fan, but her speech outshone Christie’s.
With the Romneys, the deeper you look beneath the surface, the more repulsed one gets.
Since he started campaigning as a republican in 2006, it is getting harder and harder to see what we could see more clearly 4 and 5 and 6 years ago, the information is getting buried deeper and deeper on the internet, as it is replaced with the new interviews, and articles, and carefully manicured image.
Unbelievable how non-specific and vague this got again. “Trust Mitt, give him a chance, he won’t fail.” Won’t fail at doing what exactly?
Your points are irrelevant that’s why I didn’t address them. You act like you know so much about the Romney’s. Are you a personal, jealous ex friend or maybe a girl that was jilted by one of the Romney boys? Where do you get your info-Rachel Maddow and idiot Schultz? By the way, just what exactly is wrong with being rich? Don’t you want to be rich? Why is that a negative? The Obamas are very wealthy and so are their daughters. Nancy Pelosi is one of the wealthiest members of congress and uses her position to enhance her wealth. Harry Reid is also very wealthy. Do you have a problem with them too?
Sounds like someone has been drinking too much Hate-o-Rade.
50 year old womens skin and neck dont look like that. Plastic surgery.
I know plenty of 50 something women that look great like Ann and no it’s no plastic surgery. How about no smoking and drinking for a lifetime. That makes one’s appearance stay young. What’s up with all the Ann bashing. What do you think about the great Michelle the mooch. Think she has some botox and a few wigs. Is that a problem for you. Ann is simply a pretty woman.
Thanks!
Kind of like 0bama.
I guess people on this website now also with Obama, think that something is terribly wrong with enjoying the fruits of one’s labors. Success and wealth are the American way and one I strive for. Jealous people are small minded.
Wow, still nothing, I posted things you didn’t know about Ann Romney on an Ann Romney thread, and you just haven’t referenced any of them in two long, rambling, but nasty, posts.
I’m sick of people like you that bash people because they are wealthy. Who cares about the circumstances of their wedding. It has been a long seemingly happy union. Their religions are none of my business as they are strong and grounded morally. As for her stand on abortion, your post is the first I have heard of it and frankly, I could care less about that issue in this election. No one is as pro death as Barack Hussein Obama if you want to get down to it.
