The Romney campaign released these excerpts of Ann Romney's speech, which she'll deliver tonight at the Republican convention in Tampa: “Tonight I want to talk to you from my heart about our hearts.

“He worked hard, and he became the head of a car company, and then the governor of Michigan.
“When Mitt and I met and fell in love, we were determined not to let anything stand in the way of our life together. …
“I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a ‘storybook marriage.’ Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or Breast Cancer.

Well, actually if you did watch the whole speech, you did see her doing that. You just didn’t key off of it.
She stated women work harder than men, and then said something to the effect that, “Ladies, you know what I’m talking about.”
I believe that Democrat women will eat that up, so that may have been her goal, but I didn’t really care for it.

Ann Romney’s speech was ‘okay’ - inspiring to some ... but in some parts - especially to women who dislike men... Ann Romney - in several sentences - could not seem to resist the modern day ‘PUT DOWNS’ of Men ... Ann Romney made statements denigrating men in martial - parental relationships — so typical of modern American women ... I had hoped for more elevated words and phrases ...

I don't trust in any of the above.
I question how old you are. It's traditional at conventions to have family speak and have lots of pomp and circumstance. It's been that way forever, not an attempt to re-write history and I've been around a long time.

I read an interview of Ann about their college years.
They lived very well, and they had Mitt assets to cash in when they wanted more.

This is the sit-com mentality of the consultants who wrote the speech. They think that is how you connect with what they imagine Americans to be.
