RUSH: See, I understand it, but then on the other hand I don't understand. They had a unified convention. Everybody showing up in Tampa was unified, get rid of Obama, let's turn this country around, and now, whoever -- Romney, the party, the RNC -- whoever's doing it started this rules fight that's gonna tear everything apart. Like I say, on the one hand I understand it. On the other hand, it doesn't make any sense. Not that I agree.
I know what they're trying to do, folks. And if you're just joining us, I don't have time to replay or redo the whole first half hour of the program. Essentially, the establishment Republicans, the RNC, the GOP, the Romney campaign, want to change the rules of delegate selection. They want the presidential nominee in future years to be able to choose the actual delegates to the convention so that he owns them, so they do what he wants. And what it really is is an effort to eliminate grassroots people from the Republican convention. That's really what this is all about. What that means is that the party has decided it doesn't want to have to put up with a bunch of conservatives showing up, affecting the platform and all the other things that happen at the convention, including influencing the party.

Absolutely 100% correct. Which is why I am voting third party this year. How any conservative can even contemplate voting for Romney is mind boggling to me. Yeah the Marxist Obama is worse then the socialist Romney but both are so far from being conservative that neither deserve one conservative vote.
A godless creature will NEVER get a God-fearing citizen’s vote. If they do, the voter is no longer God-fearing but in the godless pit w/Romney.
Wow, you’re completely crazy.
Then grab your toys and storm home while our nation falls. Great plan.
I think what they did was stupid, but I am not about to cede my nation to the Enemy. By the way, it’s not “my party”. I am not registered. I vote as conservative as I can.
exactly
yep...well said.
They also don’t hate America. O does. Start the 3rd party the day after.
Well put! agree completely.
They also dont hate America.
They just hate the principles that America was founded on.
Regardless of your opinion of me, I liked your profile page.

You nailed the reality that so many absolutely refuse to recognize on our side - it’s over. We’ve been sold out, slammed and betrayed. Conservatives and Christians are this neo-fascist nation’s new Jews.
If you want to survive the near future - you better be thinking past November.
Obama remains, and will remain.
Romney and the Ruling Class has served Obama in what they did yesterday to destroy Conservative Grass Roots and the TEA Party from having any voice in the GOP and the government.
And notice how nary a negative word about Obama coming from this Convention.
If we are going to survive, we HAVE to face reality and recognize where we are. The GOP is every bit an enemy to liberty, Conservatism and life as Obama and the Marxofascists are.
The Ruling Class and Obama are allies. They ultimately serve the same short-term goal: absolute state power and the subjugation of the American people and their money.
Obama’s ultimate goal of our complete destruction and transformation may not be a Ruling Class goal - but by the time Obama gets there - the Useful GOP idiots will have served their purpose for the regime - and eventually dispatched.
I thought there were candidates, and then people who voted for those candidates. And I thought that ultimately, it was the voters who were supposed to determine the direction of the party by voting for a certain candidate.
But apparently not. Apparently, there are these "grassroots" people, various "committeemen" and other party functionaries. And those folks are supposed to have the real power as delegates to do what they think should be done, rather than pay attention to the actual voters.
These party committee members, etc...do they run campaigns to be elected? Because I don't recall hearing about their platforms, or knowing their views. This sounds to me like the folks int he smoke-filled rooms want to toss out what the voters actually want, in preference for their own ideology.
And this has absolutely nothing to do with liberal or conservative, because the process itself is ideology neutral. It could just as easily be "RINO" moderate types at the state level trying to undermine voters who pick a more conservative candidate. If I vote for a candidate in a primary, essentially giving him/her my proxy, then why shouldn't that candidates delegates be from a slate he/she selected? After all, aren't those the folks whose views are most likely to align with the person for whom I cast my vote?
I think it was Stalin who said that “It’s not who cast the votes, but who COUNTS THE VOTES that matters”.
We’ve seen our last open and honest elections in this country.
We’ve gone Soviet.
Heck, I read that the November ballots are being counted in Spain at a company owned by George Soros.
Get a clue folks. What we know - is over.
It’s a Brave New World. And the rules are not what we are used to, unless you come from a place like Cook County where Soviet style power is every day.
Sorry, but the closer we get to direct primary election of candidates, with fewer intermediaries who seek to use their own judgment at a convention rather than that of the voters who supposedly sent them there, the better. At least to me, who is just a voter and not a party functionary.
The "grassroots" argument seems akin to arguing that Presidential electors in the general election should be able to do whatever they want, regardless of the intent of the voters. Personally, I thought power should lie ultimately with the voters, not with faceless committee members and self-appointed activists.
We’ve become Soviet under Obama and the Ruling class oligarchs in D.C.
Perhaps some study might help us recognize how much we’ve morphed into that corrupt system of politics.
Yesterday’s actions were intended to stifle and prevent the TEA Party or anyone like Palin from threatening the Ruling Class’ hold onto power in the GOP and in D.C.
Why so few are willing to see it for what it is, just harkens back to another time and people who refused to recognize what was being done to them.
