WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Federal court ruled on Tuesday that a controversial Texas voter identification law discriminates against black and Hispanic voters, effectively killing the law before it could take effect for the November 6 presidential election.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued the ruling. ..

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. John F. Kennedy
Since they are illegal and can't vote, there is no discrimination.
I guess no states rights means the federales can poke their finger in anywhere they want?
Please tell me again just WHY black and hispanic citizens can’t get an ID? Are there documented cases of legitimate claims that PROVE some kind of discrimination?
We f### around too much accepting illegal or unconstitutional rulings in the hope of getting it straightened out later, and I hate t'tell ya' ....
but, later never comes.
We either believe this is the last election or it isn't.
If we want to take a chance and hope zero will not have done away with anything called a legitimate election after another four years of him ... I think you're nuts. Why can other states have voter ID laws, but Texas can’t?

Hopefully, SC Justice Roberts will be on his meds the day Abbott argues before the court and rule in favor of Texas.
How close is the language in comparison to Indiana’s Voter ID law?
PA was smart and cribbed their law after it. Hopefully Texas did the same thing.
I’m shocked. /s
There’s no obstacle to blacks and hispanics getting IDs.

voter identification law discriminates against black, Hispanic and dead voters
Texas is one of many southern states that is under the post-bellum voter rights act that allows the feds to interfere with their elections.
The other states aren’t.
Why can’t people who do not have a driver license get a state photo id?
Don’t they have to show ID to get their welfare benefits?
Playing the old, tired, beat up race card.
Time to ignore the sick anti-American courts.
The story has been corrected to be about “redistricting maps” instead of “Voter ID”.
