Full title...Mexico police held for 'intentionally firing on armoured car carrying Navy captain and U.S. embassy staff'

Twelve Mexican police officers have been detained on suspicion of deliberately opening fire on an armoured car and wounding two U.S. embassy employees.

The incident has put a strain on U.S./Mexican relations and turned the spotlight back on serious problems inside Mexico's premier law-enforcement agency.

Officials offered sketchy accounts of the shooting that do not address the reason Mexican federal police opened fire on Friday on the vehicle, which had diplomatic licence plates and was carrying a Mexican Navy captain.

Under a proper U. S. Government our ambassador would be recalled from this cesspool and their ambassador would be ordered out of this country!

America and Mexico should be at war!

Forget the rebuilding of middle eastern nations!

Close the borders and evict all illegal aliens!

Pretty soon Colombia will be safer than Mexico. At least Colombia is heading in the right direction.

Most people do not realize this, but Mexico's equivalent of Navy SEALs - the FES - have proven to be the most effective and corruption-resistant weapon of the Mexican government against the cartels.

These police were likely on a cartel payroll and were tasked with the assassination of this Navy Captain.

The officer probably thought that the cartel would not attack the diplomatic vehicle.

At least the British press will report on the stories that the NYT won't do.

The crime and corruption this country will experience first hand from the south will shock the American public.

I have it on good authority that Colombia is safer than Mexico, except for some far outlying areas. The current government there is a free market/law and order type (and they think we’re nuts for electing Obama)

Mexico, Pakistan with Sombreros instead of head towels! We have this festering pustule on our southern border that is pretending to be a country. We should have put a stop to Mexico a long, long time ago. The Policia Nacional are just like the ISI in Pakistan, they work for the drug cartels.
The impotent white spaniards who run Mexico are just hoping they can kick their can down the road too.

Maybe relations would be better if the US premier law enforcement agency, BATF, hadn’t gotten so many Mexican’s killed with F&F.

It doesn’t surprise me that this is an under the fold story here in the US today, but once upon a time (when the US news media reported on more than only that which promotes democrat political goals) it would’ve been a very big deal.

How long before we find out the weapons used were from F&F?

Up until not too long ago the news media still considered it their job to report significant events. They'd spin them leftwards if possible, but they'd widely report them.

Whats happening now is a new phenomena - they give inconvenient stories the barest minimum of coverage and, increasingly, ignore them altogether. This is new.

Mexico's premier law-enforcement

All three of those words cannot be used together. Any two, yes. But not all three.
