The Exact Opposite of Truth - Media coverage scarcely resembles the actual GOP convention
The American Spectator ^ | August 28, 2012 | Robert Stacy McCain

TAMPA, Florida -- The Republican Party has spared no expense to accommodate the hundreds of journalists who have come here to write dishonest stories aimed at preventing the GOP from winning this year's election.

If you've been following major media coverage of the Republican National Convention, you know that the party's presidential candidate is Todd Akin, who will campaign this fall on a platform of undiluted hatred and evil, with the able assistance of his running mate, Martin Bormann Jr. The Akin-Bormann ticket was personally selected by RNC Chairman Rush Limbaugh and endorsed by Karl Rove after consultation with a secretive cabal of right-wing Mormon billionaires. The Republican delegates who are assembling this week in Tampa are mere dupes hired by the Koch brothers to provide the superficial appearance of a "political convention" debating a platform and nominating candidates.

Such is the narrative subtext of most of the GOP convention coverage, which is provided by a political press corps that is overwhelmingly composed of people who would never vote for any Republican under any imaginable circumstance. It has been estimated, based on data analyzed by the conservative non-profit Media Research Center, that Democrats outnumber Republicans among journalists by a ratio of at least 7-to-1, perhaps even more than 10-to-1. This lopsided partisanship has consequences that are, on the one hand, blindingly obvious to Republicans and yet somehow, on the other hand, utterly invisible to most of those inside the news industry.

Most journalists never notice liberal bias for the same reason that fish don't notice water -- it is all around them, it is all they've ever known, and they take it for granted. And just as the fish out of water flops around desperately at the life-threatening loss of its accustomed environment,....

Fortunately most of the people actually watching the RNC convention and reading this drivel is... other journalists

Except for the night of Romney/Ryan’s nomination and speeches, I bet the weather channel has more viewers than the RNC convention

MSM is truly the Nations “Fifth” column.

I sometimes wonder if it’s on purpose or they are truly so far deep into groupthink they don’t know they’re biased. In a way, it’s probably both (like Obama himself), since part of their ideology is to proslytize. That’s why most of it sounds like hectoring.

Thank God for the alternative news sources available today.

When people see a stark difference between accounts of the same event, they tend to begin their own investigation and evaluation.

This is very bad for the propagandists and very good for those speaking the truth.

Just look at Chrissy

Like Dick Morris said Obama can't say what he will do the next four years so this is all he has left and its going to be a landslide.

Still we need to work as if we are behind

It doesn't matter. They are the enemy of freedom and we must stop them. The conduct of the MSM is not protected by the constitution. We have freedom of the press and freedom of speech but NOT the freedom to commit fraud. The medias lies can no longer be considered a mistake or bias or slant, it's pure made up propaganda.

As somebody posted in a related article

Indeed, in his “farewell column” published this past weekend, Public Editor Arthur Brisbane, essentially the paper's ombudsman, took the Times to task, saying that its “political and cultural progressivism…virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times.” He describes the paper as a “hive on Eighth Avenue…shaped by a culture of like minds” – a uni-view that he suggests is more visible from the outside than the inside.

. . . watching the RNC convention. . . .

I thought it was canceled? The republicans, for reasons known only to them are putting this on for the State Run media. Until they lock out the Big 4, ( CNN, ABC, NBC ABC ) they have only themselves to blame for what happens and what "stories" are written and aired. What a sham.

They are the enemy of freedom and we must stop them.

The best offense we can mount is to buffet them with the truth - like holy water on a vampire, it makes them writhe.

If there is one thing that drives me bonkers about Freepers, it’s how many ignore THE POWER OF MAINSTREAM MEDIA PROPAGANDA.

MediaMatters is setting the narrative, and any Mainstream reporter that doesn’t play along is in danger of Black-listing. Of course, the irony of that is completely lost on the academic Socialists we have in charge, but there it is.

“National Enquirer has more truth than mainstream media.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Thank you, I am old enough to remember when the National Enquirer was something to laugh at and we took everything reported in the Charlotte Observer at face value without a shred of doubt. Now we have come full circle and one is far more likely to get the truth from the Enquirer.
