The Princeton Reviews annual lists of most and least gay-friendly universities is out, and Texas is, sadly, well-represented on the least LGBT friendly list. (Subscription is required to view the list.) The good news first: SMU dropped out of the top 20, following a No. 12 ranking last year.

Baylor BUMP
IOW University of Dallas is on the normal life list.
” One can deduce that emerson won’t be getting a Chick-fil-A anytime soon.”
2nd rate liberal arts college.
Notre Dame and BC less gay-friendly than Hillsdale? Ha! They’re just trying to apply more political pressure on ND and BC.
Jay Leno, “the Fonz” and someone named Maria Menounos among the alumni.
good list to be on
I’m disappointed in my alma mater, Benedictine. Maybe next year.
i think that is a great Idea maybe we can Bunchem.
Emerson must have been playing over it’s head : )
Normally, people act normally. Civilized people act civilly. That's all.
"Sexual orientation" is something you wouldn't even know about amybody, since it isn't a visible characteristic. That is, unless the person is engaging in constant PDA's or waving around rainbow feather boas.
As far as gender identity/expression goes, that's about the same. Females with boy-cut hair, jeans and Tshirts have been standard for 50 years and it "means" little or nothing about their sexuality; cross-dressers and trannies often look so much like their target category that yhou can'rt tell they're trannies, either.
And unisex/angrogynous has been with us since forever.
My point is, it never becomes an issue unless somebody is in your face about it.
Cathoic schools don’t have students more liberal than faculty. At Notre Dame students are definately more conservative. Church doctrine is all that keeps school policys that on the list. I suspect Boston College is the same.
It’s good to see so many Catholic schools on that list. There are some small schools (Franciscan U Steubenville) that should be on there as well.
Pepperdine is one of those rare universities where you can see people surfing, in the ocean, from your classroom window.

University of Dallas....glad to see my alma mater made it!
Can’t believe UND and CU made it and Steubenville, Christendom, and Ave Maria did not. What gives?
Glad to see the Aggies made it...Whoop!
Well, Dallas will be getting more gays, they love how they are disliked, it fuels them, it motivates them to have rallies and shove their lifestyle down as many throats as possible! They are just like the socialists: Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, they don’t cross party lines, they don’t negotiate, the Republicans had better take note and no longer compromise their beliefs for the sake of a few, or this nation will not survive. Look at all the Democrats have achieved in the last few decades: health care, infiltrated the schools and governments, gays in the military, destroying the family unit through divorce, destroying marriage by having gays marry, abortion, and so much more. Romney had better not sing Kumbaya and compromise for the sake of healing a divided nation, the democrat party is no longer what it once was, it’s a socialist, communistic entity that despises both God and country! So, if Romney wins, he had better embrace God and His law and not the law of man!
Well, at least Tennessee made the top twenty in something. The GRIDS epidemic of 1982-1989 cleared a significant number of them off the map.
Thanks for posting the list, naps!
15. University of Dallas (Irving)
Private and Catholic. I earned my 48-hour MBA there!
The Dallas Morning News is a liberal rag and the only newspaper in Dallas since they bought out the Dallas Times Herald years ago. Suburbs of Dallas are o.k., but inner Dallas is heavily racist and gay.
I actually scored twice here. I did my undergraduate studies at Boston College, and graduate school work at Pepperdine a few years later.
BC and USC play in college football next year or maybe the year later. That’s a helluva road trip.
If Boston College is on the list of “gay unfriendly” schools, then the list is meaningless. “Gay” was everywhere when I was there 20 years ago—including nasty homo-erotic graffiti in every public-restroom that was never cleaned off. The faculty in the school of Arts and Sciences was almost completely hyper-homo-friendly. Unless things have changed for the better since I left (which I doubt)...
