The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows President Obama attracting support from 47% of voters nationwide, while Mitt Romney earns 44% of the vote. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
A presidents job approval rating is one of the best indicators for assessing his chances of reelection. Typically, the presidents job approval rating on Election Day will be close to the share of the vote he receives. Currently, 50% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) at least somewhat disapprove of the job Obama is doing (see trends).

Its still too early to tell. And you have to look at say a weeks worth of results. Gallup is one of the better polls in my view but not as good as Rasmussen.
Like I say give it 3 weeks and look then.
Good idea, although my heritage is Scotland. ;>)
Close!!
Of course, it is not the popular vote that will decide the election. But it would be most unlikely that one candidate would win the popular vote by several percentage points, and yet lose the electoral vote...
So you say that all of us who voted for freedom and Constitutional government deserve to get Obama simply because we happen to live in a land overrun by lawless Federal Government buying a large share of our “countrymen support” with money stolen from us?
Freedom is chased around the world to the edges and ultimately extinction because men like Obama and his supporters have discovered how to uses government to enslave other men effectively to themselves and allegedly to each other.
The only long term home for liberty lays in the inalienable right of secession/revolution. The ability to cut ourselves free from their government and take what is ours to create a Free land built upon individual hard work and self-made reward.
But statis including many on this very form who claim to stand among us would required we fight and kill them to get that freedom. Our problem is union, and foolish choice to place it above the individual security & liberty it was designed to secure.
sorry Scott, but I don’t buy this one....there is no reason form Bambi to be ahead, and I just don’t buy it...

Two words: Todd Akin.
we still have a ways to go before election day but do read my tagline.
amen bro! hell of a post!
The Todd Akin effect
That may be a factor. Well... most of knew the trouble Akin would cause by remaining a festering sore rather than leaving.
If that's it then it's not too worrisome. Can Akin really be what people will be thinking about when they pull they lever?
On the other hand, Obama is running tons of ads saying Romney-Ryan are ending Medicare. Actually they say "the nonpartisan expert AARP says are ending Medicare". Now if that's the cause of Obama taking a lead and they can't respond effectively it's a big problem. They have to go heavy on that in the convention speeches and not let up. They pretty much have to destroy the credibility of AARP and the idea they're non-partisan.
This is the kind of inane mistakes that the liberal media and Democrats count on. Dems will use the 'big lie' technique. It's like how all these folks were convince that Palin was an idiot because she said she could see Russia from her house - um, now, that was an snl spoof. They can make a republican who makes mistakes out to be a moron, then tar his allies with it.
Meanwhile, Biden has his daily idiocy and its swept under the rug.
I like your attitude.
Given the economy this should be an easy win for the GOP. In fact it should be a sweep.
Personally, I can't see Mittens winning.
I don’t think this is Todd Akin...he will only have a local impact.
That said, this is concerning at the same time we have seen other polling that looks beter for us now so I don’t know what to think.
Also, several polls have shown NC either with Obama ahead or at least tied.
We seem to be picking only polls to post on here that have us ahead, with the exception of Ras ones.
I am a bit concerned...but I think the convention will do a lot of good to help people see Romney as being concerned with their needs etc. That’s a big part of the problem, people’s perceptions of him.
“said that she heard that Paul Ryan said some rape was legitimate. They get their information from the media and the effort to tie Romney and Ryan to Akins comments works.”
Did you set her straight? My guess is that the rumor originated from some fool who was ignorant of the facts getting only some from the media and then going off on a assumption.
I think you're one of the ones collecting a check.
I hate thinking it but I do. Obama is going to win.
I think you do like imagining he's going to win.
