"Lean Forward” infection of NBC News

Apparently NBC doesn't realize "Lean forward" means the same thing as "Bend Over".

Democrats better be careful, the are wading into the Social Issues tar pit.

In an election year where voters are overwhelmingly focused on Economics, focusing on Social Issues is going to pretty much eliminate any support for Dems with Independent voters.

Democrats don't seem to get it. In poll after poll the data indicates that Romney/Ryan are a lot closer to the mainstream on Abortion then the extremist positions being staked out by Obama/Biden.

But then when you are bankrupt of ideas and solutions, I guess hail mary passes are all the Dems have left.

George Will is an idiot.

Without MO the GOP looks to win 4-8 Senate seats. Akin is a dead horse and this continual beating of him by "conservatives" merely plays into the Democrat Propaganda machines tactics of distraction and diversion.

Not to mention the healthcare people have gone wild on their costs. Come on...my husband had a leg bypass....get this, it costs $260,000!

Which is to make up for payments by Medicare/Medicaid which do not cover the costs of treatment. The rest of us are subsidizing those government programs through hidden taxes in the form of increased medical costs.

And pharmacists! Some of my best friends are pharmacists but come on, they take pills from a big bottle and put them into a small bottle.

Attacking the people who actually produce the goods and services we consume is the liberal way. Government is the problem. They contribute nothing to our standard of living. They only tax, spend, regulate, redistribute, etc. Without them, the free market would natually work out the issues with health care.

Democrats don't seem to get it. In poll after poll the data indicates that Romney/Ryan are a lot closer to the mainstream on Abortion then the extremist positions being staked out by Obama/Biden.

Not to mention Obama's endorsement of same-sex marriage, not a popular position at all. Social issues are HUGE winners for the GOP. The only reason the GOP doesn't use them is because the elites running the show are all in favor of same-sex marriage and abortion. The GOP liberals selfishly want to risk losing the election for the party so they can instead provide support for their pet issues of abortion and same-sex marriage instead of going with the popular positions the country wants and which will win them votes.

This morning, it’s out that Romney is now a point down in Mo

Those who want to use this Rass poll in MO to claim Akin "needs to get out" might want to read the poll. Here is the money quote.

Obama’s Democratic support in the state remains largely unchanged at 96%, and voters not affiliated with either major party still favor Romney by 20 points. But Republican support in Missouri for the party’s likely nominee has fallen from 94% in late July to 85% now,”

All the Conservative/GOP movement is ackomlishing with this constant Akin bashing is fracturing their base in MO. It is a dead horse, let it go.

I think you’re right Bray.

I got, as expected, some thoughts on the matter.

First being...Akin said something stupid. But he apologized profusely and I must ask myself, why isn’t his apology good enough?

That being said, not many standing up to support Akin and so it shall go. One of our guys says something stupid and right away he or she must resign. What kind of country are we living in that we can’t make a mistake and issue an apology?

The Dems are all over the place, dear Lord, the day after the Akin gaffe comes Barbra Mikulski, my former representative....woman’s got to be 90 years old plus. First thing she says....”All Republicans feel like Akin.”

So they get an old fart fossle out there and thus begins the Dems campaign hue and cry...ABORTION!

Only I think the Dems might be quite surprised.

Most Americans don’t like abortion and for sure no woman wants an abortion. A woman wants the father of her child to wrap his arms around her as he vows to work with her to raise the child they both made.

I don’t care that the shrill libbers step up and brag about those abortions.....women don’t like ‘em and by this time we know how they want to abort 5 year olds and babies born alive.

I say let the Dems get on stage and ballyhoo their great abortion mandate. Let America see how ghoulish they are.

Now....I got to tell yon readers that the pubs really don’t want to go wading in waters that will have them making exemptions for females wanting an abortion for pregnancies caused by rape or incest.

No matter how conservative one is, and I praise Akin for his steady stance on human life no matter how conceived....nobody wants an 11 year old to be forced to bear a child whose baby daddy is her own biological father. Nobody wants to shrill at a brutal rape victim that she must bear the child of her rapist, that she must suffer the humiliation of her attack for nine more months then suffer the pain of birthing this child.

The Dems will have that 11 year old on a TV spot straightaway. She will hold a doll, the narrator will say “This is Julie. She’s 11 years old and was impregnated by her own father. Romney and the Republicans think Julie should have to give birth to this baby as they continue on their misguided crusade to ban all abortion.”

Pregnancies from incest and rape are quite rare given the millions of abortions done every day but it’s never about the truth or anything.

And once you start waffling and agree to consent to abortions in the case of incest and rape, well then every woman wanting an abortion will have conceived via rape or incest....simple matter.

So taking a big-mouthed stance on this matter is a bad idea for the pubs and no unborn lives will have been saved.

I think the Dems will have a hard time selling abortion as the dream and right of every female.

Given their druthers, pregnant females want the father of their child to love and cherish them and their child.

Democrats forget this.

The Black woman on Stephy’s show is going on ad nausem about the wonderfulness of women’s right to abortion for any reason...HA. How ironic that a Black woman waves the Margaret Sanger Flag of Eugenics. ha.

Like to go slightly off topic..pose a question for the group.

The coverage of Ryan since he was announced as the VP candidate has been very positive. Greta had a whole hour devoted to interviews with his friends and family members. I just realized that I don't think I've seen any interviews or commentary on/with his wife. Seems a tad unusual...she's a good story...comes from an OK conservtaive political family..I think she's related to Dem Rep. David Boren..the blueest of the blue dawgs..who's not running..giving up a pretty safe seat..he's disgusted with Obama and Pelosi and Reid..

Anyone have any thoughts?

You sadly confuse “hate” with the free and
open discussion of conservative principles.
That open discussion is consistent with the 1st Amendment,
and something the GOPe, like the DNC,
does NOT support.

Because of your error, you should donate more, right?

Unfortunately because Obama is so disastrous and radically communist as a President, the GOP wasn't required to do much more other than put up a really crappy liberal like Romney in order to distinguish themselves. Obama's radical leftism gave GOP liberals the cover they wanted to move the Republican party squarely to the left, since mainstream leftism is still to the right of Obama's godless communism.

Hmm I will have to watch closer. I did not know that about Ryan. I been so busy crunching numbers I did not look to close at how they were using Ryan’s family. He is a brilliant pick. He connects a whole lot better with average voters then Biden, Romney or Obama.

Some get around that by requiring a police report of a rape before allowing an abortion. The rate of abortion goes way down once they do that.
