I tended to go along with the conventional “wisdom” that Akin is toast, but then I thought of Lisa Murkowski in Alaska.

She was defeated in the GOP primary by Palin-backed Tea Party guy. Lisa got on ballot as a write-in candidate. The GOPe and Senate reelect committee gave her a lot of support. She ended up winning. And ever since she has voted with McCain’s moderates (Gang of___ [pick-a-number])

So Akin COULD win but the entire GOP seems to have deserted him.

In Ohio Mandel COULD also beat incumbent Sherrod Brown, but they are attempting to catch him in a gaffe, accusing him of everything but bedding down sheep, etc. This is happening in all the close races. Rush agrees with that, and hates it, but you have to keep fighting.

Akin was being a “Mr Know-it-all” and should have known he was getting into something he couldn’t explain, and then he couldn’t remember his sources, and he simply couldn’t tell the reporter ‘I’ll get back to you on that’.

Apologizing for being a “Mr Know-it-all” isn’t enough, unless your on the Democrat-media-free-pass. He should go get help and I would welcome him back when he is well again. For now he needs to be drilled on why he should go, it’s for how he said it as a “Mr Know-it-all” without being able to back it up.

Akin “from what I understand from doctors, it’s really rare”. (That’s a prediction on probability no one could know the answer to, does his doctor sources tell patients ‘you really don’t need a pregnancy test, it’s rare’? That’s part of why it’s also offensive, especially coming from a “Mr Know-it-all”)

If I lived in Mo. I probably WOULD vote for Akin, acknowledging all along that I’m voting for a loon.

But aren’t we entitled to have at least one on our team?

Yeah I see that thought was incomplete now, I am trying to proofread at least once before I post, that one escaped me.

Yep, the media was bashing Wisc and Walker until the end.

Considering the Denver press/media, we’re just as bad as anywhere in the country. We have a governor who used tax breaks to avoid paying taxes and a Denver mayor who frequents whore houses on a regular basis.

We also have a past sheriff sexually abusing male children and selling drugs, and who got off with something like a three year probation. Heck, we even have a county justice center was named for him.

None of these things are important enough to report I guess.

Every day in every political discussion it should be included.

Just as you don’t blame a rattle snake from biting someone you can’t blame Democrats for being Democrats. But we CAN blame the news outlets for ignoring or misreporting news.

“It takes a village to raise a child.” The Dems would like to see all kids placed in day care centers where they can be indoctrinated before being put into the public schools, which are also indoctrination

"It takes a village" is supposedly credited to the Ogbi people in Nigeria, and is about 500-600 years old. Besides keeping slaves, the Ogbi lived in grass huts with no door, just a hole in the grass that faced the common area.

So if you want a village to raise a child, expect to end up with no indoor plumbing and no way to close your front door and keep it closed.

Sure if you have to, but we shouldn’t have this. It’s obnoxious to deal with a ‘know-it-all’ no matter what party, even as a friend, co-worker, family member, ect.

We’ve all dealt with this, but worse yet you’ve got to verify everything they say. Has this been a life long habit for Akin? Or was being in spot light of all the attention going to his head?

Is there rehab for this? Counseling? I don’t know. I just know it ain’t someone I would want to trust to make an informed decision. Democrats are already at that level.

Akin must go to deal with his credibility issue, and it ain’t good enough to say Democrats do it too.

That 9% are just irked hardcore Akin supporters. They will cool off over time.

Missouri is safely Romney’s.

So the media is helping Obama destroy the country but not reporting the truth. They are such a biased bunch of militants.

When you take an oath of elected office, or the military, there is a phrase which states that you "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic".

I think the RATagandists fit the latter to a "t".

The National Guard ought to be rounding them up.

I recall Dole being covered by Candy...

I went to a W campaign event in Seattle in 2000, where I was seated close to the media location. All of the 'reporters' that I recognized looked Very Unhappy to be there. Candy Crowley had the most sour face of all.

The crowd loved W's energy, and I was very impressed by his ability to answer any question posed by a member of the audience. This was in stark contrast to his tv 'persona' being sold by the "reporters."

Even without MO the GOP is going to take 4-8 Senate seats. The GOP will take NE, ND, MT and WI, they will hold IN and MA but lose ME (Rino seat so no real loss). It is looking real good to pick up OH, VA, FLA and CT as well Pretty pathetic how easy the entire GOP/Conservative movement is suckered off message by the Democrat propaganda machines tactics of diversion and distraction

IMHO we had a shot @ 60 and this ****-wad Akin's blew it period.

Mark Levin and Landmark Legal is working on a Consitutional Admendment with Term-Limits, Sending the Senate back to the States, a Balanced Budget and Term Limits for the Supremes.

If this guy is the 60th seat we didn't get to get beyond Cloture for that vote to Bring Mark's Bill to the Floor, I will absolutely blow a head gasket...

And that goes for a host of other pieces of legislation as well, we need big numbers...

He came to our corporation one year. Met with employees, and impressed us all with his no teleprompter, minimal notes talk with us.

Also, having toured our labs the same trip, his ability to tell us what he saw in terms of our helping make America compete in a global economy, while meeting US needs.

The details he shared were such that no one could have prepped him beforehand.

He may mangle a few words now and then, but in terms of normal guy, capable, he runs circles around the “ great orator”

I saw him he was awesome! He mentioned a lot of what he told us Tuesday night . Especially about party unity. He's a firm believer.

He told us in Key West "his favorite candidate(himself obviously) did not win and he was really pissed",got a standing "O" for that one! But then he said its only makes good sense to get behind Mitt since obamba is not an option.
