The crowd loved W’s energy, and I was very impressed by his ability to answer any question posed by a member of the audience. This was in stark contrast to his tv ‘persona’ being sold by the “reporters.”
He came to our corporation one year. Met with employees, and impressed us all with his no teleprompter, minimal notes talk with us.
Also, having toured our labs the same trip, his ability to tell us what he saw in terms of our helping make America compete in a global economy, while meeting US needs.
The details he shared were such that no one could have prepped him beforehand.
He may mangle a few words now and then, but in terms of normal guy, capable, he runs circles around the “ great orator”
If I remember right, W was also ecstatic after visiting a vehicle conversion company that is converting from gasoline to natural gas. Everyone had the same opinion you have from the visit.
And, ironically, there are numerous conversions going on today.
