Why should we care about this? Because it is a given that the Left will always put the construction on such statements that is most to the disadvantage of Conservatives. And this one went viral nationwide virtually instantaneously, which is why Republicans were forced to publicly distance themselves from it.
I'm not a politician, but if I were, I would carefully weigh anything I said in public with that in mind. Akin obviously didn't, in this case, and now he is facing a potentially career ending consequence for that mistake.
You can't release gas in bed without someone dropping that news on twitter ~ someone you don't even know, never heard of, never imagined ~ twitter aficionados are always looking for some new outrageous thing.
I gather Akin still hasn't figured it out
Having just read every one of your replies on this thread up to this reply I would like to point out you're the one pushing the very things that have been "inferred".
Or do you not realize that?
There is no way you can be good enough to not get abused by abusers. That is what they do, and you can beat yourself silly over “If only I had done this instead of that, then daddy would not have beaten me....” but that kind of thinking is only going to make sure you stay enslaved forever.
The point at which you are free is when you can say, “Daddy was going to beat me no matter what I did, because Daddy has a problem that I can’t fix. I’m going to live my life with a clear conscience according to what I believe to be right, not trying to manipulate what my Daddy does or doesn’t do to me.”
I know whereof I speak, and so do a lot of people who have been through this process.
Abusers will always “infer” that you were disrespectful, selfish, evil, etc. That is what they do. If you live your life in fear of that you make them your masters.
We have to learn this. We REALLY have to learn this.
