(Reuters) Missouri conservatives say they are rallying around U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin despite his controversial comments about rape because they are outraged that establishment Republican Party leaders tried to railroad him out of the race.
A backlash has set in here in Akins suburban St. Louis congressional district, where supporters said the national party had no right to attempt to force out a duly-elected candidate.

You are getting wrapped up in all the noise. Akin says something stupid that will be played in a looped Sound Bite until November. His ignorant comment will influence a majority of the Electorate who don't give a Rat's Ass about the “details” of what he said or didn't mean to say. That is the one and only point of this entire exercise.
I'm sorry you can't handle a little obvious sarcasm in my last Post to you. YOU are the one who thought it funny to change my earlier comment regarding the repeal of Obamacare being in jeopardy into a threat to “kill Obama” which has resulted in this futile back and forth between us.
Oh yeah, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH back at ya... We're done.
No, not at all. That you even consider that makes me think you have a tenuous hold on reality
Guess who would not qualify!
... because if you read further ---yada, yada, yada...One needs the majority of 'INDEPENDENT' votes to WIN!!!
Let me see if I get this straight...in your mind the fact that independents are needed to win in Missouri means that Akin created an 'incident' to lose the very votes he needs to win.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That's so funny I had to have two laughs!
You sound like a raving lunatic for even positing something so ludicrous.
Claire is NOT a 'legitimate' moderate, she is trying very hard to play one though.
Well that ought to tell you something about the bias of the very man who wrote the article (and who is the source for the article in this thread) and the 'newspaper' he works for as it's his/their words you're reading!
...YOU are the one who thought it funny to change my earlier comment regarding the repeal of Obamacare being in jeopardy into a threat to kill Obama
I do believe I told you it was meant to be illustrative, not funny. Would you care to post my comment or shall I?
Ah, I know you won't since disparagement is so much easier, isn't it.
So I will...It's supposed to be illustrative, not funny.
If you think it wasn't illustrative, too bad for you.
Last Post from me to you Phil. We are done.
YOU said it was “illustrative”. I replied back that it was neither “funny” or illustrative”.
You set the Premise and I rejected your Premise.
Have a good evening.
Simply amazing! I only went through a couple of hundred replies instead of all of them, but once again you haven’t used one single contraction in those I’ve viewed!
I’m glad to keep you busy, means you post less about ‘incident’.
I am behind Akin 100%! he has an A rating with the National Rifle Association; a 100% rating with the American Conservative Union; pro life; against tax increases and has not caved to the democrats. He fought Carnahan tooth and nail on state funding for abortion and he voted for the Ryan Plan. (From the FR Missouri board)

Akin is no true Conservative. He is a ONE one issue conservative
At the time I did not know much about Akin except the controversy itself. Given the testimonial above, would you like to defend your assertion about Akin being a one-issue conservative? If you are not able to defend it, would you please explain what prompted your characterization? Perhaps you would like to retract it?
